This was my last ride on my YZ450FX. After this ride the snow never let up in my area and I couldn't get out on the bike. By the time this video comes out, we will likely already have awarded it to a lucky viewer since it was the runner up prize for March 2023

been riding for 30 years, never heard anyone in my life say a trail was meant for 2 stroke or 4 stroke. that is hilarious man... every trail on the planet can be for either one

The review of the 450fx on the Ash Sowman channel shows the off road potential of the bike better imo. ✌️

Fun to watch riders jump from bike to bike, 2 stroke to 4 stroke, reviewing and comparing. Not sure how this works ... takes me nearly a year to really get to know and ride a new bike well. Makes me hate to switch bikes. 25 years of riding some of everything and I'm an old guy on a yz450fx. To me it feels like a Swiss army knife. Works great for me pretty much everywhere. I ride it differently than you do. A little higher in the rpm range and with a little more momentum. I'm not a super hero, but I do ride some techy utah single track and desert. Spending time (year+) getting to know a bike really pays off for me.

Kyle you are insane. I had a WR450F (2019) and I took it on some tight twisty trails and rocky terrain in north Texas and it SUCKED. I can only imagine how insanely hard that ride was. I now enjoy the heck out of my 250 because the power suits my terrain and most of all, my skills.

I concur about different knee issues. Had a scary incident a few years ago. It's as you described. Wasn't ACL, but some other aspect of the knee that healed on its own rather quickly. Good vid as always, but just wish you weren't riding alone. That's sketchy!

And I appreciate your time spent on this bike. This thing has been made for pushing. And sometimes we and I. Have cush bikes. I like mine but I definitely can't match this. Also reklus and that bike can't be stopped

A stock 17 CRF450X is mellow just off of idle, but QUICK becomes a teleporter. The yzx shown here is gonna go wild no matter what with any great throttle openings. Its for open race pace for sure at least for some of us.

The torque map is the wrong map for that terrain. I use the Keefer free feeling map. 1st gear is hard to stall on Keefer free feeling map. I ride that stuff you're in weekly. Drive from my garage straight into this stuff.

Class 2 tear on my left MCL 7 months ago and it still has not fully healed up. I wish it would have torn completely then I would have needed surgery and would likely be good by now.

Id love to see you do a review on the Yamaha Yz250X two stroke since they did a new motor in the 2022 year. The 2023 isnt any different frpm the 2022 but as far as i can tell I dont see a review from you on the 2022 yz250x. Wpuld be curious on your thoughts! Still missing lots of features like electic start and hydro clutch but nearly a third cheaper than KTM. Thanks!

Again, you mention the bike/power being lurchy but started the video by saying you're in the torquey map? Think about that.... You should be in a map that has less power down low and it will calm the bike down! Try the Yamaha Magic map. You're whole view/opinion of this bike is faulty because of the maps you have been choosing.

Lurchy as in harder to manage the power and traction at the throttle is what I think he means. I rode a friends in the most mellow setting. It still wanted to stuff my face in the dirt and steal my lunch money.

@@VFRCapBob I still strongly disagree. I’ve ridden some decently tight single track without issue as well. It’s a great all around bike.

I feel your option to ride many different bikes have "soften" your ability to enjoy certain other bikes? No criticism, and I could be wrong. 40plus years of riding, I had to ride one bike for 4-7seasons and enjoyed everyone of them. 125, 250, 5002t 350, 426, 4504t and everything in between.

For a non racer , I swear by the more flexible ,lighter weight dual sport style boots instead of the full on MX completion or MX boot with an " Enduro" sole tacked on to it. Something has to give at times and after 2 knee surgeries and all the time off work and bills , I don't want it to be my knees.

I agree with you too a certain point on that, I do love my 5.5 Leatt boots for single track / Enduro style riding I tend to catch a lot of stuff with my toes when I ride. There have been times though where I would have loved a softer boot

Man, I wish I'd won this bike. And knowing that the guy who *did* only lives an hour away stings. :-/ Probably "too much" bike for me, and arguably I'd be better off with the WR, because I'd probably want to and it would be easier to plate, but still. It looks like a ton of fun.

The reason why I always loved 2 strokes is because I always felt like this is exactly what this was designed for no matter where I was off road. When 4 strokes started taking over, I was racing hare scrambles ALOT, so I traded my cr250 in for a crf450 somewhere in the early 2000s thinking i needed ine to compete I hated it soo much those hare scrambles were 3+ hours but I was never exhausted like I was on that 450 you go down a few times during those hate scrambles no matter what your on but that 450 had me going down during dumb shit and then to top it off the brand new bike didn't like to start hot. I kicked that bitch down the last hill after i went down again and told the dealership where it was paid for what was damaged on the 450 and got another 2 stroke. Never like them they were always trying to jam a square peg in a round hole with 4 strokes. I'm on the new TX300 now with throttle body injection and will be more than happy to have seen the beginning and the end of the worst thing to ever happen to moto the four stroke.
