great video Kyle! I love the real-world, no BS insight on the power of the four-fiddy! (from you and your son) As someone who always had to have the biggest and baddest bikes, I agree that only a select few can REALLY ride a 450. I would argue that a 450 is actually detrimental to most riders. I went from a 450 4T down to a 150 2T and i couldn't be happier! Stay safe out there!

Riding for 38 years, have 9 bikes (all Yamaha), am on the circuit multiple times a year with an R1. Never owned a dirt bike but use the YZ450 for supermoto. The ultra lightweight and explosive power that this machine pumps out will scare you at times. Throttle control has a different meaning here.

So true. My favorite off-road do it all dirt bike would have to be the 2007 KTM 400. Now that Beta has a 390 with KYB suspension it will probably be my next bike. It makes no sense whatsoever that the Japanese manufacturers won’t step up to the plate with a decent 6 speed 350/400 dirt bike.

I ordered a 2024 Yamaha WR450F last week. I wanted a bike that would be easier to make street legal because where I live you can't ride a dirt bike legally anywhere except on a track or private land. I also ordered the competition ECU so I can program it the same way the FX can The WR already has the fan, headlight and tail light, speedometer and odometer. The WR450F is a better fit for me.

Hope you’re enjoying it! I’m actually switching from a wr450 to the yz450fx. Love the WR and I always point people towards one but I really wanted that extra bit of performance. Going to plate it via South Dakota then hopefully have no issues when I switch it to an Illinois plate lol.

I am not sure when they dropped the kick starter on the 450, but thank goodness, it’s a welcomed item. I am thinking about getting another 250 2 smoker, but with electric starter this time. Really like sureco 300, but I am not sure I want to give away $5-7k of my money. I am an amputee with no right leg below the knee. I still ride my 3 street bikes, so I may sell 1 to cover the costs. Who really needs 150+ horsepower on the street anyway? 😂 I’d like another YZ250X but with the starter kit.

I have been looking for so much info on this bike for Nevada desert racing. I am tired of my KTM 450xc-f trans needing a sixth gear and 1st is a little tall for technical riding sections. This bike would work for me I think.

What is the difference between yz450f Mx bike and the woods 450fx?

larger tank, different ecu settings, wide ratio xmsn, kickstand, skid plate, slightly different suspension settings, slightly different gearing, 18" wheel, and low fuel indicator.

@@HighSpeedTVthe biggest advantage vs the Mx bike is the wide ratio transmission. Makes it way more friendly for lower speed stuff and gives us an option to plate it and make it a supermoto if you’re into that.

I am curious who they made this bike for.. you have a 450 that you can detune to make it into a 250/350 and they have a 250 as well. I love 250 four strokes and feel comfortable on them even at nearly 250lbs with riding gear. So again where does the 450 come in? I’ve never ridden a 450 and am curious. I’ve owned several bikes and currently on a 250 2t.

@@michaelraasch9345also don’t forget a 450 is exactly what you need if you ever plate it and throw a supermoto trim on it. love me a 250 in tight trails etc but you absolutely need the 450s power if you want a safe bike to merge into traffic with.

How tall is Connor I am 5 feet 7 and 15 years old and looking to get my first full sides cross country bike. I have bin riding a lot of MTB, and I am ready to get back into dirt bikes. I was looking a the yz125x and yz250fx or KTM 125xc and 250xc-f.

You’ll be able to manage a 450 so long as you have decent strength in your legs. I’m 5’8 and never had an issue on my wr450 with the one foot method when stopping. Throw it on a supermoto trim and you’ll have it drop like 1.5 inches alone from that which would help if you ever want to plate the fx.

I am switching to dirt bikes in 2024 planning to get a 2024 Yamaha FX model after 20 years racing ATVs I do have Dirtbike skills in Motocross but I am trying to decide if I really need a 450cc bike for woods I ride a Honda 450 CR in Motocross and I race a Honda ATV 450cc I am leaning toward a 250FX because I feel I can better manage the power in the tight Trails better since this bike has a 6 speed Wide Ratio Transmission I guess my Question is is the 250cc bikes have planty of power I have never any of them
