Long time coming. Hope nothing like this stains your river and estuary again. Thanks for your efforts and extremely timely reporting to keep us all informed. Again, thanks for your visual timeline of a costly mistake.

Outstanding coverage Capt Andy! I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering how MARS will be doing the disassembly of the last two sections in port. The same is true for how they'll clean up the seabed of all the parts and pieces left behind (parts of the sections and auto parts and pieces). Beautiful to see nothing but water now! Thank you Capt Andy! Be safe and stay healthy!

A happy dance is needed for sure. It seems like it was about this time last year, GA/FL week, that they began making the first cut. Captain Andy thanks for this awesome footage! I loved how close you were in giving us a look from the top as section 4 passed beneath. I’ll be with you to the end of this operation.

Two sections, that's about a quarter of the ship, have left their "sides" on the sea bed along with numerous vehicles, so this operation is far from over

Since salvage team just removed final section 4 of the wreck, I decided to rewatch your earlier video that started the series. It’s interesting to see how the (in theory) illustration became fact with all the bumps along the way!

I wonder if they can insulate the leads enough and provide enough electrical current out there to use a big electromagnet on a crane to clean up the sea bed.

I think it will still be some time before what’s left on the bottom is cleaned up. It’s got to be pretty substantial, especially the way section 4 looked when it was out of the water. I’ll bet there’s quite a number of cars down there too.

@patchmack44693 жыл бұрын
yahoo - Capitan Andy sounds a happy bunny - now its just a quick clear up on the sea bed and bug out all the barrier etc some great shots of the barge etc passing under your drone epic finish i cant wait to see your future film, Golden Ray re-enacted haha - should take you 2 years to make ??

Any idea if the VB will go into port (Brunswick or nearby?) for maintenance etc before moving away, or is it likely to get towed from where it is to its next job?
@MinorcanMullet3 жыл бұрын
Won't fit under the bridge, so Brunswick is out. It did stop in Fernandina, Fl. before coming to the wreck. SOOOOOO ???? (i dont know). :). MM

I am curious why the blue paint on the hull went away. Just a few spots where it is still showing. four years old and it's all faded??? Cheap paint? Great Job, Cap'n Andy.
@cmartin_ok3 жыл бұрын
A number of factors, the marine environment is tough on paint, heat damage and/or effects of paint strippers from when the lifting brackets were welded on, the effects of the fire etc etc

@@MinorcanMullet Good Try. I would think that work would be done on the bridge. This is how a tug pushing a barge up the Delaware River ran over a disabled Duck boat. The captain was on his cell phone and the barge watch stander wasn’t in position.
