Machinery Pete visits Farley, IA where he finds the very last serial number John Deere 4760 tractor at the Mark Gaul Farm. The Gauls bought the 1994 model 4760 2WD tractor at auction in 2002 from the original owner

Great find. High Horse Power 2wd tractors are always cool see. That is neat that it is in Dyersville. I stop at that dealership each June and November. They always have some great machines on the lot.

Thanks for the great video! This one brings back memories. My grandpa used to have a 4670, 2wd, duals, and black fenders. As far as we know. It is up by Preston Minnesota. I loved that tractor and seeing this video brings back great memories. Thanks Pete!

Thanks for watching Ross! If your 4760 is near Preston, MN....only 30 miles from me!

Thanks Pete. I bet the value on that generation of machines will take off. Everybody I ever talk to says they like the style, and cabs on them. I didn't realize how long the soundguard cab had been around.

Agree....55 and 60 Series Deere tractors have been hot for past 5 years, I don't see the trend slowing down, even seeing greater buyer demand in fact for the nicest condition / low hour / original ones when they show for sale at auction = HOT TICKET
@tractormanmike18307 жыл бұрын
All the 50 through 60 series tractors are just workhorses. They are simple reliable tractors that can run 10000 hours easy before they need any major repair, probably more than that with a good maintenance routine. The only downfall I've seen with them is the slow road gears. If you can keep them in the field they're a solid tractor.

good cause i just bought an immaculate 4760 with only 5,000 hours on it

Well as much as certain people wanna see it kept in a museum. Its in good hands and being gently used regularly but not abused. All mechanical vehicles must be used some or the lubrication and seal through out will break down.

Cool story on finding that tractor. You do realize you just made Mr. Gaul's son's day. He'll be telling how he was on a Machinery Pete video til he's old & gray. LOL From the looks of the other tractors in the background, Mr. Gaul takes great pride & care of his equipment. Thanks for posting & stay safe.

Great video, great story. Being in the UK I have never seen those front fenders before. Are these JD or are they farm built?
@farmer17477 жыл бұрын
JD used to make them but now they stopped so it is hard to find them but most of our tractors have them
@farmer17477 жыл бұрын
My dad corrected me that Hiniker made them but most are home made. There is also splatterguard which are on the Allis Chalmers in the corner of the video and the upcoming video he actually looks at it.

Thanks for that, very interesting. look forward to the next one.
