Seemed to be a lot of beans per stalk too. No wonder it took time to dry. Great idea having feed for two years. I didn't know you give the cows haircuts. I bet they like it after. On the other hand that tail is turned into a real whip. Glad your done silage. Love the vids. Peace.

Always interesting, thanks. Do you consider doing multiple tests so one sample or test might be off so the average could catch a test issue? Have you had issues with an error where there turned out to be too much moisture? I'm not a farmer, just a curious KZbin watcher. Also, 10th Generation Dairyman recommended you. You probably heard before this. It was in an FAQ he did a few weeks or months back when he hit a certain number of subscribers.

Love your videos. Love the haircut. Do you Canadian farmers get national subsides like our farmers in the US do?
@saskdutchkid4 жыл бұрын
Nope we don’t
@timothymbonham44534 жыл бұрын
In both countries, the dairy industry has become so efficient, it will produce more milk/cream than is used. This would lead to dairy farms going bankrupt & shutting down, then a shortage of milk, new dairy farms being started, then an oversupply -- a continuous & inefficient cycle. So in both countries, the government gets involved to keep a steady supply of dairy production. In Canada, the government limits how many cows each dairy farm can have producing, thus limiting the supply. In the USA, the government keeps the supply consistent by purchasing excess milk (keeping the price steady). The excess is used by the government in things like producing cheese, dried milk powder, etc. nd distributed hot lunch programs, welfare cheese, etc. Different methods, but in both cases, working to keep the supply of dairy products consistent and the consumer price steady.
@thomaskennedy12234 жыл бұрын
Your video skills are on point. Question: I'm assuming your family farms to sustain your herd of cows and bulls. What part of the land is harvested for personal/family use? Fascinating culture. Thanks for the education.✌😎

Doesn't pasteurizing the colostrum kill some of the beneficial enzymes and initial antibodies that a calf gets from its mother?
@saskdutchkid4 жыл бұрын
Maybe but the pros out weigh the cons
@mfanwelikeit37604 жыл бұрын
It may reduce some of them, but recent studies have shown that pasteurising has a much better protective effect on calves. They’re far less likely to suffer from diarrhoeal illnesses and pneumonia. They still get antibodies etc but not the coliforms (germs from poop) that can make them ill.
@kieranroberts91194 жыл бұрын
