So I think I've got the story so far. The girl stayed late at school (music club, maybe, because of the piano) . Tried to call her father because it was late, but he didn't answer the house phone or his cell. She decides to walk home and is either abducted (the hands and eyes) or gets into an accident (the cars). She might also have been running from someone and as soon as she saw her father, ran into traffic because she was panicked. At the same time, her father is out looking for her, having not gotten the calls. He ends up searching for a while, hence the long loop that slows down his chapter. He either finds her body or sees her die, depending on exactly what happened. The last chapter is still him, either carrying his dying daughter to the hospital, or carrying her corpse. It's more sad than scary, tbh, but it looks super nice.

One thing I’d like to note with the daughters side, is that there’s a motif of phones left ringing... not quite sure what it could symbolize but If I had to guess I’d say that maybe the dad couldn’t quite make time for his daughter, or maybe there’s some better explanation that I’m just not seeing.

Funfact: I can tell this game was made in Unity! Why? Because in "undeveloped game world" the huge boxes in the background are actually from a Unity plugin called ProBuilder for prototyping level concepts and such. I use it a lot!

I was just thinking how this game reminds me of Yume Nikki when you mentioned the Yume Nikki remake. I haven't played any games in a long time, but I feel like checking this one out. Also, I like the touch of not having background music and only having sound effects in an otherwise silent world. It gives the whole thing a sense of unrest and leaves you feeling a little unsettled. Somehow it suits the game perfectly.

_It was exhausting_ Watching that tiny girl with her almost bow-legged baby legs constantly walking was sad. I put myself in her place, figuring I was walking home from school and got horribly, horribly lost. Forever lost, just thinking I saw glimpses of my father. As the man, you were definitely looking for the girl, but we don't know why they couldn't seem to meet. The atmosphere was depressing honestly, just the empty night with crickets and no one else except for footsteps that chased you. There were fences with weird tops like something out of a prison and abandoned cars and a tank? Was this wartime I wonder? Is that why we suddenly see the mechanization of society with the robot? Fascinating because it left me with so many questions.

Yeah lucky for you i play world of tanks, that tank is a Maus Superheavy, and he was correct it was a German tank made by Porche motor company For Germany back in 1941 which only 2 were built one with the turret and one without this tank is really interesting because it was said its armor was impenetrable against ally tank rounds. But unfortunately they only completed 1 and 1 only just the turret, and that was when Germany lost the war and then surrendered and Theres 1 Complete Maus in a meuseum.

I can't believe we get to play as Mayoi Hachikuji (joke). But seriously, I really like the aesthetic of this game is SCRUMPTIOUS. Nailed the Japanese scenery and visuals. I don't know if dev is Japanese, but that doesn't really matter. It feels like a dreamwalk, like part Yomawari (as mentioned by Manly!). And the atmospheric horror! I'm a pretty anxious person, and something about this whole experience just put me on edge. Waiting for the other shoe to drop has never felt so hair-pullingly awful (in a good way!).

Might be something local to the country/village; might be just something that kids drew to jump around for one evening and then forget about it till the end of their lives it. To me design looks a lot like proper hopscotch, minus numbers. I'd put my money that it's jumping game without much of a goal exept to move from start to the end - perhaps few times - would look like hopscotch minus throwing.
