Cool Video! Keep the great work up, I’m glad your surgery went great. Yea the solar eclipse will be mostly in the hill country of Texas and parts of DFW (Dallas & Fort Worth) area. It’s gonna be really cool to see this on the 8th of April. I did see the ring of fire in October and that was amazing.

I've seen an annular (ring of fire) eclipse before. Made a video about it back in 2011. I'll have to find that video and post it here.

Well, i do wish everyone who watches it good weather, a clear sight and fun ;) To put this into perspective of how rare this is, i was born in the 90s and live in europe, the next total eclipse here is after i turn 100 years old... The ringed eclipse will happen here, when im in my mid 90s, and watching a video of it is just not the same... I will never see this in my entire life So if you have the opportunity, go for it, do it, ths is something special^^

Anyways I guess I won’t get to venture down to see the Trinity site… That’s a bummer. Happy healing my friend, and thank you for all of your excellent work. God bless

Australia has four total solar eclipses of n the next 15 years, the next one is July 22nd 2028, and it crosses the entire country, and goes right over Sydney for three minutes. I went and watched the hybrid eclipse last April, it only lasted a minute but I’ll never forget it.

We have a lot in common. I too have an umbilical hernia that I need to get fixed, someday. I went to the Trinity Site last April for the first time. Very interesting. I live in Texas and collect radioactive minerals. I haven't checked but I believe the path of totality will pass over the Texas Hill Country hopefully around the Llano - Burnett area. Lots of radioactive pegmatites in that area. I hope to see you there!

Hi Drew, long time follower from Alabama. I know you are always seeking content and I know you like old things. I have a request. Have you ever had any dealings with the old cold war era civil defense gamma survey meters such as the CD V-715 and or CD V-717? It might be good if you found a working one and showed what it is actually for.

I am currently waiting to see the eclipse in its entirety. When I went to the local science popularization center to get glasses, there were plenty of people so I turned my DMC-3000 on. I didn't get a single microSievert. I was expecting to bump into someone who undergoes radioisotope therapy.

I've been looking at my timelapse settings from 2017 and the settings are ISO 400 f/5.6 shutter 1/5s. I'm personally going to adjust my ISO down to 100 and leave the shutter at 1/5s. I feel like the corona of the sun is blown out. The footage of the eclipse I showed in the video was from a RED camera and I'm not getting the best meta data info on the clips.

Drew’s channel deserves a far wider audience. For those that think the same, lets leave comments about this channel on other channels where there is a common (even if its tenuous) radiological connection. I think Joe Rogan would have Drew on as a guest if only Joe knew of him. Does anyone have any ideas on how Joe can be contacted (sidestepping impenetrable firewall) - like, is Joe anybody's cousin, fighting partner, personal physician or something?
@RadioactiveDrew9 ай бұрын
I think being on Joe Rogan would be fun. So many of his guests get stuff wrong about radiation. Even when he had Oliver Stone on talking about Nuclear Energy and his new documentary talking about the same subject. Stone sounded like someone that knows just enough about the buzz words to make other people that have no idea about the subject think he knows what he's talking about.

Destin. Not Dustin. I'm Dustin and it bothers us. I'm speaking for all of us when I say Destin hates being called Dustin. Dustin hates being called Justin. Justin has it easy. People get their name right most. I went to school with two other Dustins, a Justin, and a Destin. Well, Destin Sandlin seems like a really nice guy so he probably doesn't hate it and he will laugh about it but he will correct you. I guess it doesn't matter. Oh, I also have a cousin named Justin. He is a year older and my parents swear they didn't even think about it when they named me. I dunno, though. ...what was this video about? lol Sorry, I'm in a weird mood tonight.

To anyone planning to travel and experience totality, my main advice is this: If you want to record the event that's fine, but set up a camera to capture you and your friends reacting to what is going on instead of spending your attention running a camera. This event is an experience. If you're not fully present and in the moment, you're going to miss the magnitude of the 3-4 minutes you spent so much time focused on for the months or years leading up to it. You will likely never watch the video. If you do, it won't adequately capture what you felt. Source: My experience of the 2017 eclipse.
