That selfie is boss! I have yet to experience a totality! Beautiful! I tried hovering the mouse over the timeline and moving it back and forward, at the totality part you can see how the shadow moves over the sky in the preview :D

Ah man make sure you do it as soon as you can, there's nothing like it. I was going to add a sped up version of that clip so you can see the shadow sweep across but forgot in my rush to release it asap, doh! Thanks man hope you're good

You are AWESOME!! Can not get enough!! This reminds me of when the eclipse came over here (the US) and I planned and planned got all my supplies and gear to use two cameras. In the end the best was done with the SEL24240 zooming out for a good blue hour and zoom in for the diamond ring and all and setting one button for APS-C mode and doing a crop also. You were so busy doing the selfe you did not get Earthshine off the moon just a little tweak with the EV dial but I know you will get the next time now that you are hooked!!!!

Fantastic Aly!!, and make money for next eclipse in La Araucania region next December 14, 2020 (summer season) in southern Chile. Pucon will be a good place to watch and there you also have Villarrica volcano which is one of the most active in the world, you could take wonderful pics of volcano too, but don't worry, it's not dangerous most of time.

My Dad would have LOVED to watch this total solar eclipse because he loved astronomy and he knew so much about the Universe and the stars and planets, although he was an ordinary people in this World, without formal studies in Astronomy. He died at the age of 88 JUST one week ago and JUST at 4pm at home with us, and the eclipse was JUST one week after on a Tuesday at 4pm. My mom and I went to visit him at the Cemetery JUST on Tuesday 2nd of July, the day of the eclipse. We live here in Santiago, Chile and my mom and I celebrated this awesome event with him at his tomb. I do love you and miss you Dad.

Yo estoy en Valparaíso, y lo más raro del eclipse para mi (aunque lógico debido a que el sol ya no alumbraba totalmente debido a la luna) fue la bajada brusca de la temperatura. En fin, felicidades, buen trabajo.

I'm form Mexico so I can't see this eclipse, but years before it was a partial eclipse, my first eclipse. Unfortunately, In this moment I hadn't the equipment necessary to take a photo. Now, I have a DSLR camera, star adventurer mount and a 102mm maksutov telescope and I already takes photos of planets, moon, Milky Way and mercury transition too!!. So when I see you take photos of the eclipse and your passion with this incredible phenomena I understand you. This feeling when you go to place far away, lonely, clean air, is incredible and more when you go to take photos jeje. My goal for this month is to take a better photo of the Milky Way, I'm going to buy a better lens to do that.

Hi Alyn, this is Gordon Telepun the developer of the app Solar Eclipse Timer commenting. I love your video! Nicely done, very entertaining! I was in Bella Vista, Argentina for the eclipse. I don't want to be picky but I did want to clear up some of your terminology. At 16.58 when you describe that image as the diamond ring, that is actually early Bailey's beads at that point. When you start to have splitting up of the light, that is caused by the mountains and valleys of the Moon, and that is what Baileys beads are. The diamond ring actually occurs before that point, before you see the splitting up of the light. At 17:05 where you describe this image as Bailey's beads, this image is actually at the point where you are imaging chromosome. So just wanted to help with the definitions. I hope you will use my app Solar Eclipse Timer for your next eclipse. Go to my website Solar Eclipse Timer. My KZbin channel called Solar Eclipse Timer has the most comprehensive collection of eclipse education videos on the internet. Everyone should check them out as they prepare for 2020. Thanks for posting this video. Gordon
