I agree with your sentiment, particularly with regards to children, however, belief in a flat planet really makes no difference per se - it won't change your life much in itself, beyond your denial of science, which is educationally damaging. The single biggest danger as far as I am concerned is the conspiracy that you need to accept for it to be true. Once you get into that mindset you will be prey anything and could end up dead like Rob Skiba or be out burning cell towers like lunatics in the north west of England. In those terms it is a dangerous gateway that needs to be eradicated.

When Flatzoid was talking (trash) about there not being a "Southern Celestial Pole", I wonder if he was short-handing and leaving off the word "Star"... The closest star to the southern celestial pole (Sigma Octantis) is about 1° away from the Actual center of rotation. But not even Polaris is directly on the northern celestial pole, it is about 2/3° from the Actual center of rotation.

@@RascalKyng No, they don't have good character. Jeran has promoted flat out lies, claiming that ALL data and schematics were lost from ALL Apollo missions. Witsit is the most glib speaker of mock-physics I've ever encountered, spinning out nonsense that literally has no meaning whatsoever but sounds impressive to anyone who doesn't know physics. There's no way he believes what he says, because, again, much of the time what he says is literally meaningless, just a bunch of impressive-sounding words strung together.

I live at 51⁰ north latitude and we are currently experiencing just shy of 16.5 hours of night. So being in Punta Arenas at 53⁰ south latitude and experiencing 17 hours of day light completely makes logical sense on a globe
@RealityCheckThat3 күн бұрын
Just getting to Punta Arenas and ready to board a flight to Antarctica has proven so many FE claims false that most FE'ers should be jumping ship, but I don't see it. The very fact that the days are longer in Punta Arenas is a huge conflict with the flat earth model. On the flat earth model the days near the "border" of the flat earth should be shorter rather than longer as compared with northern latitudes. I'm already quite certain that the vast majority of flat earthers are not going to accept the results and will just invent alternative explanations to support their baby - the flat earth.
@peronkop3 күн бұрын
The regular flerfs are not going to invent anything. Its the liars that do that. They invent 100 explanations and wait to see which ones stick and then run with those ones. Yes, multiple explanations, since no flerf model is the other alike.
