In Russia(only ones really who have them anymore) they do on a much smaller scale and the wheels are like inflated balloons to easily go over snow. They both look kinda similar.

This rover is EPIC. Only one small problem. Nothing is connected. If you try and load the reactors, none of the containers or conveyors connect to any of the reactors that are buried in the armor. So far I couldn't find any refineries or assemblers that are usable too. Usability in survival mode score 0/10. Looks score 10/10 :)
@Yukimaru0
@Yukimaru0 2 жыл бұрын
I grabbed it too. Currently in the process of gutting it to make it usable in survival. It's got too many unnecessary extra basic refineries/assemblers/survival pods that aren't even connected up to anything. Very well decorated. My rover that's half the size carries does way more is energy self sufficient with wind and solar and armed.

I can definitely agree. A while back I found what I think is one of the best large grid rovers made by DerMakRat. It's called Marathon. Fully functional in survival and I use a lot of his vehicles.

Wow!!!!!!!! Just wow! I'm speechless on this. what a coo rover to do some kinda of mini series on mars or something on, maybe a colonization effort? This art style is so similar to mine, almost like a 50 year in the future NASA, or a spin off of Interstellar. This totally gives me the motivation to finish my build, I've got a shuttle with jettisonable launch boosters, and a lander (which both are fit with rovers). WHICH ALSO ALL fits into a deep space range extender with capacity for TWO shuttles/booster/lander combos for additonal thrust and FTL capabilities. All have highly detailed interiors, and will eventually have it's own world scenario. I've probably put in over 4 days into this. It was supposed to be a simple remodel of an old design I did years ago, and I just never stopped building... Look out for the Pegasus Valkyrie in the next couple weeks :)

Pimp my rover... rover pizzimpt! Bayammm!!! It's very well thought out as far as functionality, scripting etc. I like the paint job. I'd like to see a version that added some more color variation in the interior.. just enough to outline specific areas of interest or make important equipment stand out... like armories and exits for example. But those are tiny opinions. The thinh is fantastic.

Its better to use Atmospheric Thrusters or mods to float over the surface. Where my base started, there is just no way wheels would work. There are trenches and large clifts. Big holes and no way to the target but to build roads. I considered building a wheeled mining vehicle but would have to create a ship that would airlift it from place to place. Just easier to build something based on Repulsor Engines. Then have a tug ship lift the large cargo containers to a ship above. This way to vehicle can use its mining rig and swap out storage when full. The ship returns to a ground base and docks. Thus the materials are lifted to orbit via the space elevator. You can then create modular ships. These use docking connectors for inside and the armour outside. Only the engine modules, with gyros and the bridge need be merged. The allows truely massive ships. You have to be very careful how you build them. You can then create standard modules for any ships. Want to fly in an atmosphere, then there is a module for that. You just print that module and then a tug ship adds it to the main vessel. Need a base? Build the connectors on the ground. Then print the base modules and airlift them to the target area. You can build conveyors to key locations like Ice Lakes. Then have big circular miners farm so much ice you cant store it. Huge space miners just farm whole asteroids and ship built with massive storage take it back to production sites. With the right blueprints (STC printouts) and a blueprint module printer (STC constructor). You can expand very quickly. Everything you do can be broken into parts and those parts can be used everywhere. Then you can use projectors to create tunnels, space elevators and conveyor networks. You keep each part in sections, broken by connectors and pistons. So long as you build within the limits and segment as required. You can create wonders, like a lift from an Earth like planet to the moon. Your computer resources become the limit.

You don't need to convert to a station to use Wind Turbines. As long as the vehicle is stationary and locked to the ground, they will generate power. Did it for my ship to essentially make it run purely off electricity from multiple sources (cause electricity is imo the better way to go if you can use it for everything rather then constantly search for multiple sources) It ran off Atmospheric and Ion Thrusters only, ensure the ship only ran off electricity through all 4 different methods to generate electricity as needed, nuclear, Solar, Wind, and an Hydrogen Engine in case of emergencies (also cause the ship was one I got from the economy mode that I heavily modified, I did NOT want to try and remove the Hydrogen Tanks, so they just ended up being hooked up to a hydrogen engine and a healthy amount of protection that wasn't there before). Most of the time I kept the hydrogen engine off, and ran mainly off solar and Nuclear, turning off the nuclear once I landed on a planet and recharged exclusively with wind and solar (doesn't take very long to recharge at all with 8 good charging turbines and 8 solar panels out in full sunlight). Even added 2 Refiners and a Production modual into it, making the ship entirely self sustainable as a mobile base that's extremely energy efficient, and has added turrets for asteroid and pirate protection, plus a vehicle bay below the rear landing bay (no ramp atm due to a physics glitch causing the ship to eternally roll when I had a folding ramp implemented, and then remove to fix the roll). The ship is now essentially meant for 1 person due to not having much internal space to allow multiple beds, but its got everything a Space Engineer would need, with efficiency, and sustainability at the heart of its design.

I would say the “wires” on the side are actually meant to be clip lights. Now it’s just a guess, but I’m basing it on the locations and the amber/orange color. Just a dim safety light on bigger vehicles and trailers.

So pluses: Detail work is amazing! Minuses: Cockpit is inefficient. In rovers as such driver seat should be in hang one cockpit, providing him visibility under the wheals and only limited on front (more for command deck). Sadly too many players treat rovers like ships, providing them visibility in opposite direction then those should be. Also hangar is quite inefficient. It take lot of space but can hold only small dedicated rovers. It would work way better with proper cargo section and helipad.

I Love it! Wheels vehicles are always tricky in this game, but this rover can be very usefull to me, I plan to build a other base like 2km away from where I am, so this rover can help carry my stuff and just act as a temporary base. Just a question... Yes the shield generator it's a good idea, but 6 solar panels are enough to substain the shield all day and the batteries all night??

And if this is vanilla then they could get this. Would be entertaining. Amd if they lose it they have to go on making new stuff cuz i dont see anyone making this in survival .
