One of my closest friends came to the USA from South Africa on the visa lottery. She has been a fantastic influence in my life. She has lived in many different countries, is very intelligent, and therefore has a really fascinating and broad perspective on things, which I really appreciate in a friend. Unfortunately, during the Trump administration, she became more hopeless and afraid, and she decided to leave the country before things got even worse. I am glad that she now lives happily and safely in Europe with her mother, but I really miss her, and I am sad that the problems with this country's systems and leaders led to us being separated by such a distance.

I mean it was. She spent a portion of her life with an uneventful birthday and the rest of her life with the most awkward birthday, which is publically pointed out every year on TV.

Yeah, it is a little tactless for her to say it in the way she did there, but neither she nor the millions of others born on that date asked to share their celebration with a national tragedy. She and others can be forgiven for not knowing how to handle that. The same can be said of anyone born on January 6.

*Normal God, Normal Satan* Humanity is known for supermen and supermen are not normal. Are God and Satan secretly ancient typical normalcy scoffed by ancient writers as their muses? In fact, any god appears more normal because maintaining a normal state is akin to being a superhuman. This is because of the subtle psychology of information whereby clarity is reserved for an elite. This is the tradition of plain faces on the thrones and in the aristocracy of Medieval and Renaissance periods.

I think as Romanian who applied for the visa lottery that the US shouldn't accept more immigrants. Also, if anyone who crosses the green border on foot from Mexico is allowed to live and work in the US, that is unfair to the rest of the world. If I was Mexican I would probably try to get in illegally in my 20s but that was not an option for me. On the other hand this is kind of cruel but natural selection. Who can get in and survivez than find a loophole in the immigration system, they get to stay. If you can do this you probably are good enough to stay.😅
@RochelleHasTooManyHobbies2 ай бұрын
Nobody's stopping you from illegally overstaying a vacation visa; if you're willing to risk being here illegally, nut up or zip up. People entering from Mexico are largely refugees or people looking for work as farmhands/day-laborers. Entering the country illegally with the intention of claiming sanctuary is the same level of misdemeanor as a speeding ticket; I think people forget that all too often. Entering for work opportunities benefits our economy immensely, and should be encouraged. There are temporary visas for that which benefit the workers by ensuring decent conditions and pay, and then they are taxed on their wages, but the programs aren't widely known amongst laborers, which is a problem on our end for sure. We NEED those laborers; Americans have shown time and again that no matter what the pay is, we're unwilling to do highly physical jobs in enough numbers to harvest crops or build low-budget infrastructure. As an American, if you want to be here, I think you should come into reality a little bit and accept that this country NEEDS immigrants. And not just the highly educated ones, but also the ones who would qualify for food stamps so that we actually HAVE food to sell.

They're releasing FULL archived episodes for free. Usually they only upload his main story to youtube, so we were missing out on half the show. New videos are still being posted, but in between, we get a season's worth of old episodes and can revisit them to see how they've aged. Some of these issues still haven't been addressed and are therefore still relevant. I really appreciate them. Especially the ones on the Trump administration; it's proof that we're not just catastrophising his presidency. He did real harm to this country throughout his term, and should not be allowed another.
