She is a great singer, no doubt, but I don’t understand why she keeps on dumping on Rafi-sahab. In an interview, Asha-ji herself admitted she made a mistake while singing a duet with Kishore-da, in another interview she said we (Manna-da, Kishore-da, herself, others) learned from music directors, but Rafi-sahab didn’t. Manna-da, Kishore-da, Lata-didi themselves hold Rafi-sahab in high regards. Something terrible must have happened, why hold a grudge otherwise?

I concur with your comment. I’m a die hard fan of “The” Mangeshkar Sisters. Asha JI is no less than her esteemed elder Sister the late Lata JI and also not less than the great Malika E Tarannum Madam Noorjahan. But I will not hesitate to say that both the Mangeshkar sisters always carried some sort grudges against “ THE GREAT MOHAMMED RAFI”. They have always spoken in a covert way to demean Rafi Sahab, for the reason best known to them. Lata JI has never spoken harshly about “THE “ Rafi sahab whereas Asha JI has left no opportunity to comment negatively about the legend. Lata JI has rather shown respect to Rafi Sahab by calling him “ EK NEK INSAN… KHUDA KA BANDA”, in one of her interviews. Asha JI is a great singer now she needs to learn to be humble and generous in praise of her colleagues,especially “ THE GREATEST OF ALL MALE SINGERS JANAB MOHAMMED RAFI SAHAB MARHOOM.”
