Great report as usual. Not sure how I feel about the latex gloves 🧤. Spending November in South America flying with COPA, Avianca and Aerolineas Argentinas…..a bit apprehensive about service quality.

Good morning Jonny. I’ve just returned from a month in South America. It included 2 flights with COPA, 5 flights with Aerolineas Argentinas and 2 with Avianca. I was very impressed with their on time performance but the service and hard product were a bit disappointing. Neither of our flights with COPA had lie flat seats. Fortunately they were not overnight flights. The YYZ-PTY flight was a bit lack lustre but it was a breakfast flight. The PTY-SCL leg was very pleasant due primarily to the flight attendants. All flights on Aerolineas were domestic. The have a premium product and in most cases they offer 2x2 seating. The soft product was identical on all legs. While this sounds gruesome, they always offered a pre-packaged sandwich that was absolutely delicious. Flight attendants were very nice. With Avianca we had 2 aircraft substitutions. Their A320neo Business Class hard product is underwhelming and in many similar to inter-European flights. There isn’t much legroom. Our flight from BOG to JFK was downgraded from 1x2x1 787 to a formed Norwegian Airlines 787 in a 2x3x2 configuration. The soft product was fine and the flight attendants were very nice. In summary, none of these airlines are ready for DesignAir.

Great video, y have flew couple times from SCL to BOG in 787 , and in my opnion the 777 is way better WAY!, why do you think 787 is better? taking in mind that the seats in 787 are older. BTW really like your video, thks

Some unnecessary comments in this video... Underestimating the product because is from South America it's not nice. I've been flying many times in business class in many different companies, and certainly Latam is one of my favorites. The crew has an excellent level of English, and perfectly understandable.... And they might speak many other languages, and not only English.

Appreciate the feedback. It's the lack of choice for starters, mid-flight snacks etc. When compared to other carriers who adopt the 'Premium' moniker like China Airlines who offer 3-michelin starred meals and a range of midflight meals on similar length flights, the overall dining concept needs a tiny bit more... oomph!
