Why do they refer to the deceased person as “life extinct” instead of just deceased?? 🤷♀️ Also, incredible amount of respect to the airport chaplain…just holding the hand of someone who has lost a dear relative is a great help sometimes. Thank you to all involved in this case for being so respectful to the relatives of the deceased.❤ My condolences to the family of the deceased. 🤲
@ukmaxi6 ай бұрын
It's the legal definition of confirming a death. It's known as 'Verification of Life Extinct' or VLE, so that's probably why they are using that term in a professional setting.

You use terminology civilian won't understand to prevent panic and anxiety. Hospitals use the word Expire (dead) and Limousine (morgue bed). You don't want roommates to know someone died beside them, nor do you want families to get curious and spectate. Same mentality calling menstrual cycle as Coffee.

Biman Bangladesh are known to always have elderly passengers. Primarily due to the fact they are the only airline that can land direct at Sylhet where most of the UK british bangladeshi's are from. Fit and healthy people don't mind going via Emirates + Qatar etc with a stopover but many elderly passengers want to go direct from Manchester or London to Sylhet.

Airport staff can learn a thing or two from John the chaplin. I've travelled the world and some of the rude obnoxious staff I have come across at airports, it would really help if they are softly, clearly spoken as John. Travelling is already a manic situation for many at airports, everybody wants a smooth transition.

All deaths outside of hospital or care setting have to be attended by Police to make sure they are no suspicious circumstances, they also have to complete a report for the coroner. It is basically an investigation to establish cause of death. Happy to explain the process if needed.
@Nothrazim2 ай бұрын
They had no way of knowing that, as the death certificate was not signed, was lost, or for whatever other reason did not accompany the body. Therefore it is automatically suspicious, even if they don't neccessarily assume murder.
