Are you sure this is a flight review or a food review show. You made me hungry all through the episode. Your narration is immaculate. Good job 👍

What a great review. The big advantage with Turkish for 🇦🇺travellers is the huge range of smaller European cities out of IST. For example Bari in Puglia is 2 stops in a direct line from Sydney and in 12 months only 1 stop avoiding back tracking from Rome or London. Thanks.
@thedesignairvideo17 сағат бұрын
Yeah it’s great news for more regional European travellers and vice versa

What a lovely video, a joy for the eyes and ears. Turkish airlines really needs to update their 777 business class, they've been talking about the a350-9 or 10 to be added to routes but they keep delaying it. Earlier this year i booked on turkish from YUL as they were flying their a350s to, but a week before my flight they switched them to the very dated and like you said, non-private 777 business class. I travel solo mostly, so this is never a good layout. However i do make a new temporary friend as the chances of me ending up in their lap when i try to jump out to the aisle is a real possibility. Turkish, do better!

Why thank you! Lovely comment, and yes, there's very few good seats for solo travellers!

Gosh, a 777 in 2-3-2 for 19 hours is a big ask. I know you noted the switch to the A350, but yikes!

Even with their A350 seat it wouldn't be a fun time... Singapore use those seat on their regional routes only for a reason.
@thedesignairvideo17 сағат бұрын
Actually Singapore use that seat on the 787. I’ve flown both versions with Turkish and the a350 seat is noticeably wider
@thedesignairvideo17 сағат бұрын
I try not to!

@@thedesignairvideo SQ uses those seats on their 787s and some a350s serving regional routes (SIN-ICN for example). My experience on their a350 is that it's too narrow to sleep comfortably - hence why SQ's long haul routes feature a wider product.

Fantastic and very welcomed report, comprehensive yet succinct. Catering looked fantastic and the service delivery excellent. Were your nuts warm or cold at 06:40 ? Turkish offer a welcomed difference to/from Australia.

Sadly not hot nuts, nor cold, just normal temperature. And thank you for the comments!

I have to say that on two different TK flights on the 777 LAX-IST-LAX the service was so slow, I asked both crews to just take the table cloth away and return the table to the armrest - sitting for 35-40 minutes boxed in with nothing to drink as they worked their way down the cabins (I was in the smaller rear cabin) wasn’t something I was interested in. On 787 flights from Seattle to Istanbul the cabin is smaller so it was less of an issue. It’s too bad that the practice is apparently to prepare all seats for meals on the 777, when it could be done in 2 stages, one cabin at a time. I get rather anxious with the feeling of being boxed in for extended periods (also why I would never select a window seat where my head feels too close to the window and wall).

I think your review is the first I'm seeing of the Turkish service to Sydney/Melbourne. You would have thought the innaugural would be crawling with avgeek youtubers, but I guess not.
@thedesignairvideo2 сағат бұрын
Yes, I was the only recording the flight, so sadly you won't see any other reviews. I don't think they send many youtubers usually.

Thanks for the review. Will you fly this route again or do you prefer to do it via SIN or DXB?
@thedesignairvideo17 сағат бұрын
I would do this route again. In effect it adds one more stop but it’s a fairly direct route and the timings are pretty decent now

Think you meant to say “Higher cabin pressure” (lower effective altitude). 🙃

Once non-stop to Sydney and Melbourne starts, Turkish will be very competitive against the gulf three because they fly to every big and mid-sized city in Europe.
@pacmanc81033 сағат бұрын
The inflight experience, for me, was not nearly as nice on TK - certainly not as nice as QR or EK (A380s). Where TK shines is its great lounges in Istanbul.
