Real ETHNIC Gypsies are actually originally from north western India. Modern Linguists and Ethnologists have pretty much pinpointed their Language as originating from Northern India, and it is related to Indo European (Aryan) languages spoken there, although Roma has been much altered over time. Also, Ethnically, their DNA has been pinpointed as having its roots in this region

@@321girlwantstohavefun they were not displaced...they moved according to any client that hired them, they were always nomadic. They first move to Europe via Turkey during the Seljuk and Ottoman empire, they live by performing music so when nobody want to pay for their performances in north India anymore they follow the Turks and the Arabs to the west to find new clientele. In North India they were consider as untouchable by the Hindus so they were persecuted by the Hindus there even thought during that time they were also Hindu, so they moved west to search for better life without persecution by caste system in. even today in Northern India the Hindu still persecuted them and call them lower cast. In Spain it was the Moor Arab who brought them there because being an entertainers during that time is consider as low class job and no free Al Andalus citizen especially Muslim and Christians are gonna be a musicians or performer, so they hired the Gypsy. Im investigating from long time about this, and after long time living in Egypt with my husband who is egiptian, I found all tht i need, soon i will write a book with all this information. Im from Andalucía comming from my both families from egiptanos, the word tht they use to call themself (at leats in my land, Andalucía), nowadays called gitanos. And, in this video, there is not nothing different, or special for by call as a "gypsies" they are saidys, talking saidy and dancing wht they use to do. They run from this land, and some came back tht why egiptians know about tht there are gipsies but body know who they are because there is not diferences between them.

The Gysies or Romas (called Banjaras in India) are not ordinary people. They are the Bollywood or Hollywood of old times. They were travelling on the trade routes between India and Europe. They were wandering tribes demonstrating their extra ordinary dancing and music skills from one places to the other. Their main source of earnings was advertising the Indian products to European and Central Asian markets specially silk clothes and spices (whole of Rajsthan,Gujrat in India, Sindh-Pakistan, Punjab etc. is cotton belt that was producing best quality cloths during ancient period and they were marketing those cloths)... In their peak time upto 10th century, they were among the most fashinable and prosperous people in the world with extra ordinary artistic/musical talents. Even today they wear most colorful dresses (both men & women)..... They are the real people who introduced east to the west. Later with the sudden advent of violent Islam during medieval period, their movement was restricted to a greater extent due to loot, murders and kidnapping by Islamic invaders in the Central Asian region. All the big fashion, advertising and film industry of today has the roots in these people.
