Late 2006 20" iMac I got for free!

Ended up getting a fully factory upgraded iMac, simply because the ram modules weren't seated correctly. It has the 2.16 ghz intel core 2 duo processor and is currently running snow leopard. It also has every factory option available at the time.

I am jealous. I haven't had a Mac since my G4 with Tiger died years ago. I loved it and it was the most used computer in the house.

i bought one of these today the 17inch late 2006 50nzd in really good condition running 10.7.5 and it works really well for internet and youtube using crossover i can play a lot of 90's and early to mid 2000's games pc games eg halo 1 and vice city age of empires ect and they all run fine

I have just acquired three late 2006 iMacs. Two 20 inch models and one 17 inch. All three are in full working order with 3GB RAM. I had been running Snow Leopard on them until yesterday I decided to install Lion on one of the 20 inch models. Since that install I have noticed that 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo has increased to 2.33Ghz? Love these iMacs!

I just got one of these 3 days ago for $100.00. It has the 128 MB graphics card but I upgraded the ram to 4GB and also putting a 120GB SSD in it just for the hell of it lol. By the way do you know of any good products to get the scratches out of these types of iMacs? Mine don't look bad but it does have some scratches that annoy me. Nice video btw if you can it would be cool it if you made another video on this iMac.

Hi, great video! I got the same iMac free too! But not able to get internet. I called Apple support and was told I would have to change the inscription code.. whatever that means. As you can see I'm not pc savvy and hoping for some words of wisdom. After listening to your video it seems I woud have to upgrade to the airport extreme...is that all I would need to pick up internet from my current wifi? Help, please... thank you

It's possible to run 10.8 on it but it requires MLpostfactor and it requires lion and the OS X Mountain Lion installer.

mine is the exact same model except my graphics memory is 128mb and i have not had any problems i got my iMac for only 25$ lol i also had problems upgradeing my ram it would not boot up but i finnaly got the 4Gb ram too work i had too push the ram inside the slots

My Late 2006 iMac 20" had graphics card issues a few days ago. For some reason, it works fine now. Should I still replace the graphics card?

To be honest I think they're great. Considering the fact that computers these days are made with 1.4/1.8ghz for a slight price increment these show how far Apple was ahead at the time.

ColdWarGAMING ???? What. This wasn't ahead of anything. Core 2 quads 's were rife at that point. Graphics solution sucks too.
