Ryobi RYi1000, 1000 watt inverter generator review

Quick review on the new RYi1000 inverter generator, which is capable of 900 running watt and 1000 surge watts. The unit features a 54.5 cc 4 cycle gas engine, fed by a 0.6 gallon fuel tank. The unit features an auto idle feature, which allows it to run quietly and more efficiently. As a result, off of the tiny tank, you can expect to run up to 8 hours with a half (450 watt) load. As of the posting of this video, this unit has run exactly 23 hours without a single issue.

I picked one of the not working in a scrapyard for $20 AUD. It was full of transmission fluid, like gushing out full. Cleaned it out, put the proper oil in, changed the stale fuel. She ran perfectly after a few tries to start her.

can you run a 500 w pc a 70 wats tv screen and 1 light iqam from greece too poor to pay electricity is to expensive like 150 to 200 per month i have a found this generator KIPOR IG 1000 is it capable of running my pc and couple of lights maybe the washer in cool water mode not all together ??? pls i need heeelp i need it to work for 4 to 5 hours the day any help advice to wich one to choose i wanted to be quiet too

That looks to be exactly the same unit as the "Meec" brand unit i bought here in sweden 2 months ago. Mine is 1000W 230volt 50Hz though. and the plastic molds are red on mine. Jula is a hardware store chain and Meec is their house brand for cheap china powertolls. The carry Ryobi weedwhackers and chainsaws, so it's likely the same unit. I am really impressed so far, mine is at about 30 hours now. I ran an 850W marked power drill (which needed to be started smoothly to avoid flickering the overload lamp but ran good if you just press the regulator slowly). I ran a 700W sandwich grill, and I ran a 30 amp car battery fastcharger at the same time as using the built in 12 V 7.5 amp charger for a second battery. All well so far. The oil was black&grey at the first change at 20 hours, but it didnt loose any. I do however suspect oil was gas diluted from the smell of it. Is your still going strong?

Probably. Nothing is authentic anymore. I thought the larger model of this was until others started showing up with different enclosures but the same internals.

kangriburger34 you reset by shutting the engine off and restarting. Make sure you aren't running something with a starting wattage greater than 1000 watts. Has to be even less with extension cords over 25 feet.

Your typical 25 Cu. Ft. refrigerator pulls 6.5 full load amp (6.5 x 120 = 780 watts) I don't see how you get the 200 +/- watts you call out. My guess is the compressor was not running, only lights and maybe a fan motor. Hightly unlikely that generator is going to run a compressor that pulls 6.5 FLA

Now a days refrigerators (especially the inverter types) draw next to nothing compared to some years ago. No high startup amps. Just a slow trickle of amps up to the required cooling capacity. Rarely more than 200 watts. My 700 watt inverter generator runs all my LED lights, 21Cu.ft inverter type fridge and 21 inch LED TV. Total wattage as measured varies between 300 and 400 watts.

I was thinking the same thing. My refrigerator is about the same size and it shows about 8 amps on the sticker. That should require at least 1000 watts, and more with the surge. I don't think this can power my frig...
