Darren McFadden to get South Carolina on Halloween night 2007. 34 carries for 321 yards one rushing touchdown and one passing touchdown for 23 yards. That was a great game. Teams we’re putting eight guys in the box and when he cleared the linebackers it was nothing but green grass. They did not know how to handle that guy. terrifying.

Wouldnt be underrated if he showed up in the big ten championship game. He and the team laid a giant dud getting smacked 59-0 and ziek stole the show going for over 200 and gordon couldnt even get 100. 3.8 ypg vs 11 ypg is a significant difference on the big stage

Engineered the biggest upset in the history of college football, 34-32 over # 5 ranked Michigan. One of only five players & two freshmen in history to pass for 2000 yards and rush for 1000 yards. Won four consecutive conference championships 2006, 07, 08 & 09. Won FCS National Championships in 2006 & 2007. First ever two time FCS Payton Award winner. Inducted into the College Football HOF in 2024. The most exciting player I've ever seen. If you have never seen any of his games I urge you to check them out.

I disagree on Drinks take on the bowl games. Nobody cares about a 6-6 team playing a 7-5 team in the Gasparilla Bowl. Even die hard fans don't care. In 2024, if your team doesn't make one of these crappy bowls, you are probably thinking about firing the coach. How is that a reward to keep fans interested?

Coach Drink has a number of really great thoughts on the direction of college football. Coaches such as Drinkwitz should be listened to by alums, presidents and boards of regents. Unfortunately, those three groups currently only listen to wins and money. That’s not a good direction for the game of football.

Manziel not in my Top10. I wouldn’t even have Manziel in my Top 10. Starting from 95 Reggie Bush #1 and it’s not even close distant #1 then just rattling off other names Charles Woodson ,Deathony Thomas, Darren McFadden, Percy Harvin, Tim Tebow, Michael Vick, Vince Young, Tyrann Mathieu, Lamar Jackson.
@EulogyfortheAngels6 ай бұрын
That list is great, but Manziel was absolutely more fascinating to watch than Tyrann Mathieu. Mathieu had splash plays every now and then on defense and returns. Manziel was a living backyard football highlight reel nearly every offensive drive.
@702TifosiGambler6 ай бұрын
@@EulogyfortheAngels I didn’t see it that way he struggled vs most of the good defenses that year UF,Ole Miss, LSU. He had a pretty good game vs Bama but Mike Evans also made some incredible plays that game. Manziel was a one year of production I intentionally left him off my list along with Cam and Moss. Mahommes throwing for 500+ 3x and putting up 700yds vs OU with “a bunch of guys” was more must see TV. I enjoyed Manziel I thought his personality and antics were more entertaining than his arm talent really good watch but for me not all time entertaining.

The ACC and Big 12 need to merge and include Notre Dame in the process.
@lawrencematthes89486 ай бұрын
Might be the best thing for Notre Dame. Cuz they apparently want no part of the Big 10.
@devilfrawg49536 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, I think it's too late for a merger. The Alliance that was formed to exclude the Big 12 (pre-PAC implosion) has not been forgotten. However, 12 ACC schools will have landing spots between the B1G, SEC, and Big 12. WF, BC, Duke, Cal, and SMU would be wise to merge with WSU and Oregon St.

Your comment about small market MLB teams is what the owners want you to think. Oakland is in a bigger “market” than if they’d move to Vegas and the owners who don’t try to win, aka spend on FA, don’t care about winning as much as using the team as a cash cow.
