Hey Drew, have you thought about promoting the TELO truck as the truck you can actually park in your garage? I've heard you guys promote it as a city friendly truck, which of course it will be, but the angle of being able to fit it in one's garage may also be a good one. I love what TELO is doing and what you are doing for TELO!

The TELO is going to need a 7pin trailer connector and a brake controller to tow 2000 plus lbs. I hope this is included in the truck or is a factory option.

Good luck Telo, may you succeed in introducing this mini-truck to the American masses.

“A lot of custom parts…” is a little variation on prior info stating most parts are stock off-the-shelf. I know this reflects a maturation of the design and production processes, I just hope it doesn’t lead to production delays and increased expense that lead to the failure of so many startups.
@bobhellman8676Ай бұрын
It will be a lot of custom (Telo) parts because you have to cleanly integrate a number of those off-the-shelf parts. But think of hours. Designing, prototyping, tooling, manufacturing a viable motor/transaxle package is more hours than that vehicle. So on the whole make or buy process, you pick your fights. Simplistically, they have to design what makes it a Telo vs. something else. So of course it will be their door. But they don’t need their own brake rotor design. It won’t be their own caliper design, that type of thing.

So what is the timeframe and process from here? This scratch built chassis goes down to Irvine? For more manufacturing of parts or do they use this single build and do an entirely new version but with less handwork?
@TELOtrucksАй бұрын
e’re currently building our first two fully-designed vehicles in partnership with leading prototype manufacturer Aria Group. We’re excited to unveil them early next year. Then, we’ll be able to give TELO fans the opportunity to drive our mini trucks at events across the country while also ramping up production with an eye on starting customer deliveries that winter.
@bobhellman8676Ай бұрын
My guesses: 1) They send out the 2 chassis to have Aria do their best effort design/build/install of the body that will go on these 2 as they sit. It gets them their 2 demo units by, say early summer. That could be on their 2nd anniversary. (June) 2) They, as in the home team, go back over everything they've done/learned, and forge ahead to simplify/get pre-production quotes, working in concert with the key vendors. 3) Funding dependent, they start to release the long lead production tools/parts 4) They do a first round production short run, including all their tuning, testing, validation, outside approvals, etc.. 5) Again, a guess, 1st production units H1 '26. (Which is rippin'! June '26 would be 3 years start-to-ship). Totally my estimate based on what I've seen to date- they can tell you the actual deal.
@speciesofspacesАй бұрын
@@TELOtrucks that's a crazy timeline and hope it happens. I assume most of the parts and components then are off the shelf and sourced in the US. Watching Canoo has been painful and Aptera's supply chain seems complicated. Let's hope your compact design helps avoid delays!
@bobhellman8676Ай бұрын
@speciesofspaces The sad part is that Aptera’s USCG BOM and their process shows their costs would be every bit of what Telo’s will be to build an Aptera. In short, they have no path to viability against their promises. Telo on the other hand, is making it all count, and it’s a joy to watch.

Maybe some of us do want the twin 280 hp motors... Leave the up front room, put an R after Telo, sex up the wheel/tire combo, charge us more, you know the drill. And if you do the CyberTruck "deliver the more expensive ones first", Hey! It's all in the interest of supporting the brand. It can be a 1/2 price Raptor R!

Inquiry, I hope Telo will offer a midgate? At least as an option. For example like the GM BT1 Ultium platform EV pickups offer. Or some other midgate variation. Couldn't find any specifics on if Tello was going to offer a midgate or not? So I figured I'd ask. Good luck.
