Thanks for sharing. Wish they'd let Jane say more. William certainly had plenty to say. Anna was very gracious, articulate and classy, as was Gabrielle. David Easter was quite a looker.

I think William Roache is kind of rude here. I always got that sense about Coronation Street actors, they felt they were superior to other soaps. There was a lot of snobbery in the cast.

A wonderful conversation, thanks for the upload! All great actors, but it was especially interesting to hear what Anna Wing and Gabrielle Drake had to say. 👍

I totally agree, especially as they are two you don't tend to get interviews with. It was very interesting indeed. And to think William Roache had only done 26 years at that point!

Bill Roach is very passive aggressive here, saying Coronation Street is indifferent to other soaps and then insisting to Anna Wing that EastEnders only gets higher ratings because they add omnibus viewers. A very unpleasant man, and another example of the massive egos on display at Corrie, thinking they were a cut above the rest.

I completely agree. He never shut up throughout the interview and kept interrupting the others. Then to throw in the useless fact that EastEnders add on their omnibus figures demonstrated sheer unprofessionalism. Good old Anna Wing showed her class and just laughed it off.
