What I have seen here is beyond the words beautiful on all levels. Feldenkrais spoke about the easiness and the elegance, about the musicality of movement. Alfons exemplifies in this video like no other seen until now that these qualities in moving oneself are possible in practicing pure Feldenkrais lessons with no mixing of other methods or systems. The music suits ideally to the movements as if it generates the movements, the movements being an expression of the music. It's no ballet, it's more pleasurable to see this video than any ballet because it is more organic and more natural than any dancing. Every video seen with Alfons Grabher proves that he is not only a Feldenkrais praktitioner, but he is through his way of presenting, of explaing and of practicing the Feldenkrais method already a master of this method to its core.

thank you Paul for this in depth comment ! :-) I too find it organic, and I like to look at the video myself. I keep discovering things I did not see or feel before, Feldenkrais is a truly interesting journey!

Hi Paul, I too find this much more pleasurable than ballet; when i look at the tonus of the muscles of the ballet dancers i cringe.. It makes me feel uncomfortable. Regards

I've been coming back to this video for several years now and it still touches me everytime I watch it! especially the rolling lessons were such a big revelation to me, I can literally feel it in myself when I watch you. Thank you Alfons! This is great... Feldenkrais as art. The intuition you are following will lead you in places we still don't know. In my understanding your way of doing Feldenkrais is one of the most interesting in its courage to continue Feldenkrais's intuitive capacity. Instead of just repeating his lessons you are actually deepening his path and making your own. Also your simplicity and easiness in sharing Feldenkrais realises in practice one of the biggest dream of Moshe, which is to take his method to the world in the more democratic way... Thank you!

Alfons, you are just a guy I like to see rolling around in my living room. Also your outfit including socks you have chosen perfectly. How fantastic Feldenkrais is and how ambitious and contagious you present it, the others have surely already said. I wish I had a carpet like that now too, my floorboards are too cold and hard.

The music is overwhelming. Provokes emotions in me like a landslide, like an eruption of a volcano. I am impressed that you were able to contain yourself to small movements - maybe that 's what Feledenkrais is about: being VERY mindful.

I am very new to Feldenkrais and only in my 10th day …...yesterday I felt like giving up because I was in so much pain after trying to sit cross legged. I suffer from osteoarthritis in the knees but am trying to use movement rather than sitting in a chair dosed up with painkillers and crying! I hope one day I can do at least 70% of this. Danke Alfons.

This is so beautiful Alfons - I have just come across it but have had an interest in Feldenkrais for many years now - I have learnt a few movements - it really resonates. This video is pure joy to watch - I can feel how it makes my body feel by just watching you perform it, I am going to try to follow along but in saying that - how could one learn this or a similar routine? It is Jan 2021 and I realize this is 5 years old so have you developed this at all? I will also check your website...so beautiful, so encouraging, so subtle, gentle and easful..Thank You

you are so on the music.. you could have been a dancer. That's why it comes out so beautiful to watch.. By the way, i wish we had more things we could do on the fly when at work. It is impossible to lie down somewhere while at the office and that's exactly where we also need to remember our bodies most. Is it possible to have shorter, modified awareness movements we can do while taking a few minutes break at the office?
@ImprovingAbility8 жыл бұрын
Hi Gina ! Thank you for your lovely feedback, much appreciated! yes indeed, it was a special evening. I'm glad I did this recording. Good question about the office. There's lessons for sitting (and standing). I like to do small movements in between (in sitting) or do tiny, tiny, differentiated movements while others would sit still. Head movements in between with eyes closed is also quite nice kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYnNep6viNGKga8 .. eyes+head+shoulder combos .... it seems like we humans could have the ability to move in a way that improves movement, constantly improves our wellbeing .... instead of restricting and feeling sour, tired ... huge question actually, I want to do a Q&A video with it sometime

Hello, Alfons. I’m four months into healing from a cracked femur and I’ve been practicing (experiencing) this lesson to where I now can do the basic moves. I’ve been having periods of dizziness, which I suppose could be attributed to my advanced age, but I’m happy to say that when I’m finished doing this lesson (and any other Feldenkrais lesson) the dizziness totally disappears. Do you have an explanation for this?
@ImprovingAbility5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dee, no I cant explain. Happy it works for you though :-) things connected with balance are, for example, how one uses their eyes, but also the ankles, and there’s tiny stuff in the ears that can get swooshed around
