I've made a new version of this series, starting with Day 1, where I focus more on movement instructions, and less on explanations and sharing my thoughts. If you prefer that style, here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/apyakIiiorR0fJY

Another brilliant lesson! You ask us to feel the head moving as a result of the spine contraction. At the end of the lesson I try to move the head first, and my body had now learned to involve my whole body automatically, with a resultant gain in amplitude. Trying to move my head left and right and blocking the spine movement, has the effect of seriously dimishing the range of movement. The freer AND inhibited pattern was now "experienced". As I said: brilliant!!! Thanks Alfons!!

Another !!!! great lesson. Most people (or is it just me?) have a body image of the chest as a box with little involvement with general movement except breathing. This lesson shows otherwise. Brilliant!! To be repeated!

The awareness somatic movements brought quite a surprise with them for me. We know no movement can be done without involving the whole body, but like the difference between having the taste of an apple described and the actual tasting of an apple, those simple movements were really like "tasting the apple", surprised how many muscles were involved and in the same time how many I probably inhibited while using my legs!!. Thanks(again) Alfons!

Wonderful lesson! Lying on my left side was horrifically awkward at first, then got so much better. Hooray for learning! Here's a pronunciation tip (because English is the most inconsistent language ever): the verb to tow is pronounced with a long o, like in toe, not like in towel. So towing is pronounced like toe ing.
@ImprovingAbility8 күн бұрын
I was wondering about that toe sound! 😂🙏

HELLO: I HAVE MODERATE TO SEVERE OSTEOARTHRITIS IN BOTH HIP JOINTS. DO YOU HAVE PROVEN EXERCISES THAT WILL REDUCE THE LEVEL OF PAIN WHEN WALKING AND HELP REDUCE PAIN IN THE HIPS THAT WEAKEN ME UP AT NIGHT?

Hi, in terms of movement classes you could try my new “Getting Better Day By Day” series, for free here on KZbin, and see if this helps you. Or click around the thumbnails of my KZbin channel and see if something resonates with you. If my videos seem too fast and strenuous then you might try Feldenkrais Access, before returning to my channel later on. I wish you good luck with finding a video lesson that works for you!

Dear Alfons! I read your comment about my comment in your blog, and I get it, I practice F for several years now and I know already the drill, also not to ask those kind of questions :)...however, in this case my intentions were really on the "simple" side, meaning i just couldn't get if you mean to curve the spine to the left or to roll the spine toward the left, I just couldn't finish the lesson at the moment i did not get that, because I knew all the lesson was based on that, thank you for your kind reply. wishing you the best!

gracias dc, soy de Colombia quisiera ver los videos en Español.

Greetings to Colombia! Espera, creo que pronto KZbin proporcionará una traducción de audio sincronizada con los labios de todos los videos. Escuché que las traducciones serán hechas por IA y utilizarán la misma voz que en el video original. Supongo que lo harán para muchos idiomas, incluido el español. No sé cuándo lo lanzarán, pero no puede estar muy lejos en el futuro.

what floor mattress are you using?
@ImprovingAbilityАй бұрын
These mats are Japanese. For what I can tell they have 3 layers: a top fabric, a very thin foam layer, and an anti-slip dots / backing bottom layer. One alone is a bit too hard for me, so it’s 4 of them stacked on top of each other. Size is 78 x 46 inches. But unfortunately I don‘t know the name or where to get them, since I got them as a gift from a Japanese student of mine who already left the country.
