Late Night with David Letterman - Little Village live performance (1992)

Little Village was an American/British rock band, formed in 1991 by Ry Cooder (guitar, vocal), John Hiatt (guitar, piano, vocal), Nick Lowe (bass, vocal) and Jim Keltner (drums). Each of the group's members had previously worked on Hiatt's 1987 album Bring The Family, and formed in 1991 while on a break from their own musical projects.

The live recording of their full concert on youtube (audio only) is really worth a listen..some of Cooder's songs too & the band really cook imho

Not too hard to believe. formulaic writing, probably all rush jobs, aimed at commercial success. Probably their 2n d rate songs, throwaways , and they saved their best for their own projects. no honesty, no roots, just a lot of dull 80's rock drudgery.. Most of what Harrison, Dylan, Petty, Orbison.and the guy from ELO was boring too with whatchamacallit. The travelling non flaccid old willies?

I found it hard to admit, mostly to myself, that I was disappointed in this album too. I'd been looking so forward to it, after the musical paradise that was 'Bring the Family'. Still I think 'Little Village' has a few good moments. I particularly like 'Big Love' and 'Don't go away mad'. Hiatt included the latter song in his own Anthology, so I guess he's kinda proud of it.
