In this video, we do some local pheasant hunting.
For those wondering why Hen Pheasants are being harvested; this is because they are State Stocked birds.

Very nice y'all! Your dogs are what GSP's are supposed to be, imho. We had these growing up from the late '50's - '80's here in rural N.C. for Bobwhite Quail when our population was in decline but still holding its own! You could flush 3 large coveys at any given time back then but now they're only in certain areas of the State. Again, great job y'all and excellent footage! I hear the same story here of great populations of pheasants and quail in the 80s It’s saddening to see all the wild populations gone. But we are grateful for what we have. Happy New Years!

Thanks for the comment. We wish we lived closer to wild roosters, but We are grateful the states stocks these birds for us to hunt. The amount of memories with dogs, friends, and family is priceless.

Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately This state does not have wild pheasants because there is no habitats for them. Therefore the state releases pheasants every year in which both hens and roosters are allowed since they would not survive in the wild. We hope to make it to the west to hunt wild pheasants next year. But are grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy them here. Even if not wild. We made a video called “Pheasant Hunting Underrated” that touches more this topic. Check it out!

We’re using the Canon R6 Mark II. It’s a really nice camera.
