Great info. I'm going Sept 6 but still debating on Primitivo or Frances. This is my first time and I prefer more remote typically. Do you buy a SIM card there?

You can get a Spain SIM card pretty cheap, like €5 for something like 30 GB. You probably only need the data card and you can download WhatsApp. Most people in Europe use WhatsApp. I generally recommend people do the Frances their first time. There are very few people on the other ones, so you really will be pretty much alone. The most popular is the Frances, which about 80% of the people do. And then probably 10% do the Portuguese. I've been talking with someone who started the Norte but didn't see anybody for 3 days and decided to take a bus to Pamplona to do the Frances. If you are looking for the experience of sitting around a pilgrim's table with other people, that would be the Frances.

What about umbrella could you have used it

Is this a question? The umbrella could be used for rain I guess in the rainier months. Many people use it for sun protection in the hotter months. And there's a silver reflective umbrella if you want to spend the money on it. Might be helpful in July or August. In September I just wear a hat.
