I didn't put it together until now, but exciting to see Matt on the channel. I had the pleasure of dealing directly with him regarding one of my ninja tackle surf rods. He makes a great product and offers great customer service. I'll probably be picking up a Dagger for some inshore fishing soon. White trout/ sand trout are really good to eat. I usually dredge them and pan fry them when they get bigger they they fight just like a spec trout.

At the last place you fish in the pond and as your throwing the last shrimp into the pond, watch closely in the pond as your fingers are releasing the shrimp you see in the water what looks to be a huge gold fish or carp. Interesting to see so much activity in such a small reservoir. Just a fun observation. "Fish On Dudes."

Hey I have a bit of a noob question. I noticed it looked like you had your rod holders quite a distance back from the surf. Was that because of tide or something else?

It all depends on the tide. If it's low tide I set mine back further for when the tide comes in. If it's high tide I set them up close to the surf for when the tide goes out. That way I don't have to keep moving them.

Croaker and spot are two different fish. Spot are broader and shorter than croakers, and of course they have that spot.

Pomps tend to be small in early spring. Bigger ones will move in soon. You aren’t going to catch pompano in Bayou LaBatre. They are strictly a beach fish.
