That looked like a blast! I usually tighten up my drag a little when it is cold out. Their mouths are harder, and they do not pull off as easy if you hook them good.

I grabbed a few packs of Bluegrass Bugs to try and got some 1/16 Mule Jigs to go with them. Haven’t tried rigging them yet but the Mule Jig hook looks a bit small for the bulk of the bug. I also have some ZMan 1/10th I may try them on first. Cant wait to try them! Oh, and awesome to see you get on that bite! Good times!

Think the reason they was biting your new lure is because it’s like a dead action bait and that the way I catch them in the winter with baits with no action or very little and yes I am getting me some!

It would on an ultra small jig with a short skirt because the bug is only 2”. It wouldn’t have any action but would make a killer dead profile trailer.

Please tighten up the drag, and don’t reel when the drag is pulling out. Causes line twist.
