I so enjoyed watching this video. I moved back in Sept'24 and like you, I brought my life contained in boxes that are in the upstairs bedrooms and in the basement. Thank you for taking 4 years because I am not rushed either. I have what I need on the main floor and I continue to take my time opening boxes. I pull out what I want or need and repack the rest and my children can deal with it one day. Learning to knit and make simple items is something I've always wanted to do. I would love to see you show more of the things you've made and start a separate knitting for beginners channel. Wishing you a wonderful new year!❤

Your knitting is so beautiful. I enjoy sewing my clothes and for my children and now my grandchildren. Because of "fast fashion" from cheap sources where horrible labor practices are a norm, clothes are essentially disposable. A single yard of good fabric costs more than a finished garment (like Easter dresses for granddaughters). The problem is literally tons of polyester (plastic) fabric in landfills and because its plastic it does not break down. I love the natural fibers that feel so much better, breathe and are so much better for the planet. Thank you, for sharing your beautiful work. God bless and keep you. 🌷💗❄️🎄

I love the aqua summer sweater! The green & purple/blue/or black one that you laid out on the bed reminded me of a sweater a friend of mine made for her daughter (my Goddaughter) when she was young. The “yarn” was unlike anything I’d ever seen, it had shiny parts, little squares mixed into the “yarn” … so she’d knit (or crochet) a few rows, then bring this crazy yarn in for a a couple of rows so that the sweater was mainly the regular yarn that I’m familiar with but then the sweater just “popped” because of the shiny funky “yarn” … whatever was all the rage back in the mid 90’s. Her roots are from Germany, all her many sisters knitted, their mom too… me, not so much… thank you for the fun “trip” into your closet!

I admire your hand-crafted beautiful clothes and knit goods, Kaye. You should do a little this winter. I experienced below zero on the Plateau in Cumberland County, TN either in 2010 or 2011. Snow and ice that year. So, that big cable knit gorgeous sweater should do you good. By the way, do knit a belt and wear that sweater. I harvested some of my garden yesterday and it is in the freezer. Yes it will be seed starting in Jan.Feb. time. Thanks for the show and tell of your needle work.

This video reminds me... In 1965, there was a huge fabric discount sale at our local dime store in Westminster, CA... TEN CENTS A YARD... my mom went crazy! My mother was a seamstress. She taught sewing in a vocational high school for 30 years. After she retired from public school, she taught adult classes. She was a professed fabric addict. She loved to go into the local fabric store and buy fabric for some future project. She made most of my sisters' and my clothes before we were in jr. high school. She made costumes for our church Christmas progams. She made matching outfits for my two sons, and I assume she did the same for my 4 nieces. When I graduated from college, her gift to me was a sewing machine. One of her coworkers said, " What if she doesn't want a sewing machine?" Mother answered, "She'd better. She's my daughter!"😊 I don't sew as much as she did, but I am grateful she taught me to sew.

Am I the only one that goes back in and comments again? Ha! Funny story.. my mom was a wonderful seamstress. She didn’t knit, but she made a lot of our dress clothes. She signed me up for a sewing class at a local fabric store. I was a tomboy. I was better at basketball than my brother’s friends. She realized she was wasting her money after a couple of lessons. I never learned to sew. I’ve regretted that many times over the years and was always jealous of my sister’s ability to make her own window treatments, etc!
