Is that bung a check valve? Or can i just put a rubber block off on that overflo bung?

To make everyone’s life easier with the overflow catch can. I’ve see some mounted it back by the coil. But the hose LMR sends is too short for placement there. Where they mounted the controller on the shroud in the video. Below that mount one of the L brackets that comes with the catch can. What I did was flatten out the other L bracket which will bolt to the the bottom bolt hole on the catch and used a self tapping screw and screwed it into the side of the fan shrouds aluminum. Held fine just the fans plastic is in the way to mount two L brackets to the face of it. Much easier to mount it there and it’s kinda like the stock location. And the hose reaches. The wiring isn’t hard like he said blue with blue. black with black on the fans. wire from solenoid connects to the two blue wires from the fan you twisted together. And the red wire from the controller goes to the black wires on the fan you twisted together. You’ll see that red wire come off a 30 amp fuse in the fan harness the yellow wire goes to a 12v switched source. And green wire splices to a/c wire. Which I don’t have a/c. So I didn’t use it but the blue quick connect is for that they send. Really like 5 things to crimp and splice and you’re done. Fitment of the fan shroud. making sure it lines up and mounting the over flow is more time consuming then the wiring. I had a older fms aluminum 4 core radiator. So I had to tweak a couple holes at the top and open them up to give me enough play side to side with the shroud to mount the overflow up by the radiator. And it didn’t even line up at the bottom of my radiator where holes are to bolt it up. Guess we will find out if two bolts at top hold. Should be fine seems like a decent fit.

Video was fast around the wiring part as everyone says. Wanted to note I grounded mine above the head light as stated in video it made my headlight super weak on that side, so instead I ran the wire under the passenger fender and grounded it to the top fender bolt closest to the firewall. Now my headlight is not weak/dim. And nothing states which way to turn the adjusting screw to raise or lower the degrees before it kicks on. I would assume left is lowest, yet now my fans aren't kicking on so having to trouble shoot why everything quit working now. Haven't even drove the car but it was working before.

You need better grounds on your car, grounding a wire at multiple places should never weaken any electrical circuit. I bet you have some bad Battery/Chassis ground causing you issues.
@pineapplestudios92574 жыл бұрын
It should’ve come with instructions for the for the controller that say counter clockwise to lower fan turn-on temperature, and if you adjust it more than 3/4 of a turn and if you adjust it past the stop then warranty is void, so that may be your problem.

Awesome fan a nice spot for waterneck sensor wire to ground is where the battery grounds are on block run the wire towards alternator then across sway bar, ground to front block then to fan controller , also point fan wires at the bottom of radiator not at the top like the video shows looks terrible wires everywhere, fan controller mounting spot would be below battery on the frame rail hides perfect & easy acces to adjust, run the wires across radiator core support to the battery hiding the wires for a cleaner look. Don't forget to wireloom everything.

I have a couple of mustangs,a 90GT and a 91GT vert,i decided 3 years ago to use the biggest electric one flexalite makes (cant recall the name) on my 91 and man i love it, i live in Oklahoma, it gets hot as hell here during summer (100+) and it runs nice and cool,i dont race my cars except on occasion i might get on them so maybe it wouldn't work for that but it suits my needs,when i had the clutch in the 91 and i was at a drive thru or so i had to shut the car off everytime if the line was taking too long, electric fans are one of those things, some people install them and they go out in a month or blow up and destroy their radiator and hood and some people have good luck with them, so far so good but i have all my old stuff in a box for the day the electric one craps out,i will get another one though.

Is there a video on how to wire this kit to a terminator x system? I need help 😅 Thanks in advance.
@latemodelrestorationКүн бұрын
There isn't a dedicated video wiring this specific fan to a Holley Terminator X system. Electric fan wiring is mentioned in the Term X instructions starting on page 14. As stated on page 6, _Do not use the electric fan outputs to directly power a fan. They must only trigger a relay._ All you'll need to do is wire in one 70-amp relay with the fans and trigger the relay with one of the outputs on the Term X. In other words, a dedicated fan controller isn't needed. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks. -Landan

Ours works great but the fan runs a long time after turning the car off and I have to turn the adjustment trim pot till it shuts off. Advice?
@fwh79FOXR66 жыл бұрын
Bill A: You need to wire the fan controller to a "key on hot" circuit. Right now your fan is wired "key off hot" which means it constantly has power. When you wire it "key on hot" the fans will shut off when you turn off the car. Key off hot wiring will cause you big problems and also ruin your battery.
@jayseonb74985 жыл бұрын
fwh79 but he stared it runs a long time after he turns it off. not fans constantly running key on or off. They said the fan controller is set at 150 degrees most likely once it goes below that the fans turn off. Figure you have that temp probe in the thermostat housing. Which is probably gonna stay warm a little while after you shut the car off

This fan does work with a stock radiator, but you the vertical rod will need to be removed so that the fan shroud sents flush against the radiator. If the car has modifications, I would recommend upgrading to a 3-row aluminum radiator as well.
@Owens_Racing7 жыл бұрын
A lot of people do the contour factory fans. Those flow 3000cfm on high. I'm curious as to your kit here flowing 1800cfm or 1200 less. The contour can't be making heat like a built and raced SBF. So how do we know those fans flow enough to support say a boosted car or even a higher compression motor. Do you have real numbers on the stock clutch fans cfm at like 850rpm, 1500rpm, 2000, etc etc in 500 increments? Thanks for your time and look forward to lesson on this set up and my concerns.

Try a new radiator, double check your thermostat is installed correctly (spring facing towards the rear of the engine). If neither of those solve your problem start looking for signs of a bad head gasket, (look in the radiator and check for bubbles, do a compression check on all the cylinders, etc.) just to avoid doing the head gasket I’d try the cheap easy stuff first, double check that the water pump you bought was the correct rotation for your year vehicle etc.
