Their emotionally-based beliefs create concrete-dense defensive shields no logic can penetrate. He doesnt like non-white immigrants, is freely biased, and appears "strong". Honestly the “My pillow” pillows aren’t that hard, but you should DEFINITELY be pointing out that they’re a freaking Petri dish. My well meaning mom bought me one because I have a bad back and needed a new pillow. I’ve never had to wash a pillow in my entire life but that thing stunk to High Heaven and no amount of washing kept it clean. I put it through multiple dryer cycles to make sure everything was dry and within a day or so the smell was back. I switched back to an old pillow and the smell stopped immediately. Finally got a new pillow that’s infinitely better in support and softness (and doesn’t smell like a garbage can) for $10. Idk exactly how much the My Pillow sells at, but It’d be overpriced at a penny. I’ve talked to friends who had a sheet set from “my pillow” and it went from light blue to *yellow* within a year, with regular washing and cycling through their other sheets which did Not change color. Maybe whatever Devil Mike Lindell sold his soul to for fame ensured that he could only make crappy products that bring misery to his buyers.

The stinky pillow is coming from the foam. Whatever chemicals they used to make the foam stinks from new. Some car interiors have that stinky plastic too and you can't get rid of it even with lots of bleach washings. Other foam pillows do not stink. But, you can tell right away so it ain't from your hair or body sweat. It is garbage plastic somehow the person who made the first pillow never noticed? I record almost all of the Late night shows, aside from the monologue, I enjoy, from Seth Meyer's "A closer look": From Stephen Colbert, I enjoy the segment "meanwhile," From Jimmy Kimmel I like the "Lying witness news." I don't watch the others. I hate Jimmy Fallon interruptions by his band leader, even though they are scripted. James Corden, I don' even watch since he airs pretty late and I was never a fan of the show, I miss Craig Ferguson, now, that was a good show to watch.

Totally agree, I'm a nurse working at a large urban hospital in the middle of a red state in the US Midwest and these last 6 years have been a nightmare especially when the pandemic hit and Trump Republicans caused the completely needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Those bastards are totally responsible for the worst possible federal response to the worst global pandemic in over 100 years! I can't tell you how many people we've seen die from COVID-19 in the past 2+ years, especially the ones who wouldn't be vaccinated against the virus because they believed the steaming pile of lies and disinformation spewed at them every day by Trump's criminal organization and their co-conspirators in the right wing media. Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel and Trevor Noah and Stephen Colbert all helped keep me sane. I've been on the phone to the suicide hotline at least three times and if it wasn't for my lovely wife and our beloved little rescued Jack Russell terrier Wally I might have checked out. Fortunately I'm still here and relatively healthy and my wife decided last spring that we should by a lovely little casita in the mountains of Costa Rica for an escape from this country as it slides closer to becoming a fascist theocracy! *rant over* (it's probably the tequila and cannabis edibles that just kicked in?!) Anyway thanks for sharing, I love these Closer Look segments and really enjoy the smart, insightful, and witty comments from so many of my fellow Seth Meyers fans. I'm 80 years old, and since I was old enough to be interested in current events, I've noticed that there is a segment of the population that is angry, conservative and vocal about their ideas. *Correction:* Charleston Chew did not exist until 1925. a 19th century dandy would not have been able to choose it off said silver platter. also, it's a US based company, so the joke's premise presupposes that the English dandy was either visiting America, or that someone brought Charleston chews to (presumably) England, which makes it even more confusing. but since it didn't exist at that time, I guess it doesn't matter. still, probably the best joke of the segment.

My impression is that maybe at first he did know what the punch line would be, but at some point they switched to letting it be a surprise. He just reads what is on the cue card and lets the video roll. This method failed him Monday when he did a scripted joke right before the end that used the same reaction clip (Obamna saying "what?") as the ending joke. I felt it took away from the impact to get the same joke back to back like that. It only makes sense if Seth did not know what the final joke would be when assembling the script, because otherwise he would have used a different joke.
