Remember at the start of lock downs when people were saying the late night hosts were all unfunny without audiences and couldn’t make it on KZbin? Corrections has emerged as truly excellent and medium-appropriate content.

Patty beat us all to the punch. But I love how Seth is so proud of his vest. I took the time to explain the entirety of how we got to Corrections and the “inside joke” among the crochet and knitting community to my husband just so I could show him the vest and gush over how sweet it was that he’s wearing it with such pride (as you should, Seth, Patty spent hours working on that and the design is outstanding). Seth is my favorite precisely because of stuff like this, you’re the only one who really does the show for us non-famous folks at home. I get that all the shows are for us, but you’re the only one who really makes it a direct thing. Expect a knit jackal for your desk to arrive before the holidays.

- Become glassy or take on a glass-like appearance. Glaze over is a synonym for glass over. You can use "Glaze over" instead a verb "Glass over".
@sixstringedthing
@sixstringedthing 2 жыл бұрын
I'm with Sally, I've never heard anyone use the phrase "glass over". "Glazing" can refer to either window glass itself or the act of installing it. But in this metaphorical context I think it's more illustrative to think of it in terms of glazed pottery/ceramics, in which a rough hand-finished surface takes on a smooth, blank, glass-like appearance. Sometimes I miss being outside.

When I heard you say "When those Fast Five movies started," I knew of course that Fast Five was a 2011 sequel to the first Fast & the Furious film that released in 2001... So of course you MUST have been conflating it with the seminal South Bronx Hip Hop musical group Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five. According to your IMDB however, you would have been only five years old at the time Rapper's Delight was released. I was so flabbergasted that I turned and asked my wife what it all meant, and she grunted deeply then served me with divorce papers... So thank you. You've ruined my marriage.

"Rapper's Delight" was by The Sugarhill Gang and released in 1979. The song achieved Billboard status in January of 1980.
@robertmartin2936
@robertmartin2936 2 жыл бұрын
@@immillenaround The Sugarhill Gang however was a trio made up of Michael "Wonder Mike" Wright, Henry "Big Bank Hank" Jackson, and Guy "Master Gee" O'Brien. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were a six member group that originally consisted of Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, The Kidd Creole, Keef Cowboy, Scorpio and Rahiem. The group only began recording in addition to their lives sets after The Sugarhill Gang's commercial success, and they were originally signed to Enjoy Records, releasing "Superappin" in 1979. Their signing to Sugarhill Records came later, and their debut on that label was "Freedom" in 1980 which charted at #19.
