Same. I only started watching Seth when America went into the dark days of the dt era in 2016 and very soon after, gave me something to look forward to and I found myself waiting for the 9pm notification that A Closer Look was posted. Which, at the time, I thought "the person who decided to post these clips 2 hours before the 1130pm shows is brilliant". And my love for the show grew above all of the other late night shows. Then when the pandemic hit - Seth knocked it out of the ballpark and I think he truly found his niche without an in person audience. He looked just as miserable as I felt, being told he couldn't do ACL in the hallway, then had to move to the cold garage, then found his way to the attic where the magic fully happened. And it was a privilege to watch it all unfold in real time. And now CoRRRections is the sweet spot. If Seth and the crew knew how much they kept me company and made me laugh going through a divorce and a move, I can't thank them enough.

He was indeed defeated *temporarily* by liquid nitrogen, and his *permanent* defeat was in molten steel. So liquid nitrogen won a battle, and molten steel won a final battle and hence a war.

Your hands are perfect, Seth, don't listen to the haters. :) Also, in case it helps: mineral deficiencies can sometimes cause nail-biting. I used to bite my nails all the time, and then I found out I had a slight iron deficiency. After years of nail-biting, I made a few small adjustments to my diet and moved across the country from my mother, and my nail-biting cleared right up!

Honestly, I missed the Lorde/Seth painting poll since it wasn't on Sea Captain polls' Twitter. Also, I will boycott the show if Seth goes back to wearing a suit. I was watching old "A Closer Look" bits and Seth just rocks so much with the top button undone and sleeves rolled up.

Definitely ignore the haters telling you to say “it was the anniversary of Amy Poehler and I auditioning,” Seth! That would be improper grammar to say “I” there anyway 😂.
@noodle_fc3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, because he worded it differently than last week. Last week he said "anniversary of when Amy and myself auditioned." That should be "I" instead of "myself." This week he said "anniversary of Amy and I auditioning," in which "auditioning" is a gerund, not a verb, and so using the nominative personal pronoun "I" is not correct. It should be "my," as in, "my correcting may be unwelcome, but it is nonetheless accurate."
@nitidiuscula3 жыл бұрын
In that subordinate clause Seth and Amy are the subjects of the verb "auditioning", so it should be "I." I think?
@noodle_fc3 жыл бұрын
@@nitidiuscula "Auditioning" by itself is not a verb. Look up "audition," and you will see the form "auditioning" listed as gerund and present participle. Now, the participle is used along with some auxiliary ("helper") words to form certain verb tenses, as in "Seth was auditioning," so it's confusing. But you wouldn't say "auditioning" alone as a verb. Try it out. Does "I auditioning for something" sound correct? No. But you might say "Auditioning is stressful," in which it is clearly used as a noun (i.e. gerund).
