And rightwing propaganda outlets, specifically The Hill, which I didn't realize has apparently gone completely to the dark side, are running headlines about the Obamas' speeches that claim they are "demonizing" trump. They are all very offended that Democrats have at long last chosen to publicly tell the truth about trump, and expressing some of it with our wit and sharpness (which everyone knows the rightwing has no real sense of humor). They are used to being able to tell lies about us with impunity and certainly without being skewered on rapier wit. I find the decision to change tactics to be a giant breath of fresh air.

The greatest thing about Obama’s hand gesture accompanying his remark about crowd sizes is learning that he planned that all on his own. Jon Favreau, his speech writer, kept removing that remark from his speech and Obama kept telling him to put it back in. Jon said he was floored when he watched the speech as he had no idea that was coming. Kudos, Obama. Couldn’t have done better if he tried.

I honestly wish the media would clip & show more of Obama's actual speech, and not just focus on the few digs toward Trump. The insults were less than 30 seconds of a 35 minute, extremely moving, and VERY inspiring speech, which I think crosses all party lines. EDIT: I'm aware that the full speech is easy to find/watch, but what I'm talking about is that the general media coverage of Obama's speech tends to only highlight the part where he's making fun of Trump.

This is the crazy thing. We have these black folk that are voting for Trump (their rights) because they say that the democrats have done nothing for their community. They say that there is no jobs or that they can't afford live off of the income that they are making. Stop blaming and relying on anyone to provide for you. Making a better life depends on the choices you make in life. Your decision to make moves that will put you in a better position. I have achieved what i consider a great deal, coming from a broken home in the Bronx New York. Born in the 1960's without my father and a mother that had her problems. I made it out and it was MY decision and my choice to get me out. I got out and worked my way from working in my neighborhood to working in Manhattan. Getting more and working experience. Raising a family. Mind you, i had not finished high school. Was i somewhat lucky? Maybe. But i sold myself in every job interview. I worked myself from having an apartment in the Bronx to having a home in TN and a home in NC. Donald Trump isn't going give you nothing. I never had to sell my soul to the devil. I'm not a huge success story. I still feel that i could have achieved much more in life but i blame NO ONE BUT MYSELF for what i haven't achieved. I know what i need to do to make better moves in order to continue to do well. I raised a daughter to achieve her college degree. Stop thinking anyone is going to make things better for you. Yes, i have also had handcuffs on me also. The main thing that makes me know i will never vote Trump is because i see and know that he only cares about himself and he is a user. The other thing is. I will never vote for a man that lied to weak minded people and tricked them to storm the capital. I march to the beat of my own drum. I can't mess with that dude. Not even sure how he can still run for office. Be smart!
