Why do lipids and proteins diffuse laterally? Just because they can?
@jacobsolanki62167 жыл бұрын
SilverAyano~ if they were to diffuse horizontally they would have to pass through the lipid bilayer whih has a hydrophobic core and since the lipid is part hydrophillic because of its polar head it's thermondynamically unpreferred for lipids of the bilayer to move horizontally
@MusicManiacGal17 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know that. But why do lipids diffuse laterally? Because the membrane is fluid?
