To clarify, a spare is 10 for that frame plus the next ball; a strike is 10 for that frame plus the next two balls, not the next frame as Tom originally said.

I'm going with a turkey sandwich. I worked at a bowling alley and I bowled a lot when I was younger, but I've never heard of any significance to this particular scoring arrangement.

Initial thoughts: played bowling a few times. It's not about the highest score. I went briefly to Roman numerals "l (/) and X" lXXXl. But there is no valid number, just a lewd display for giggles. Or maybe a banned display that shows an error/special message or some such. Yet something "strange" happens on the last "squares" where you can play more than the usual strike or two shots. So maybe, that's how you can roll the most balls down the alley for a game?

The single full episode that was posted has a higher view count than the clips, but that community post mentioned that the full episode did not have viewer retention. People started watching but didn’t finish. The clips have better retention, people watching the whole thing.

I'm not a sports fan so this might not be totally correct. There was an American sport star that went from basketball to baseball. I don't think that the sport star's fans went nuts as you have been. Lateral has responded to you twice. Tom Scott is gaining more fans through the podcast. Their priority is the podcast, and they made this decision awhile back. When creating a new product, decisions have to be made to transfer the product from theoretical to reality. Most likely this was one of those decisions. I have a feeling that you don't care about this. You rather have "Lateral with Tom Scott" remain theoretical, than not having the full episodes on KZbin. All or nothing approach.

Is it ok for Tom Scott to do something outside of KZbin? I wonder if you are a fan of Tom Scott or KZbin. Doing the podcast will broaden his audience which he will get more fans. He still does KZbin videos. Does Tom Scott always have to do KZbin videos? The pure arrogance astonishes me.

The thing is they've already produced the entire thing WITH video included. Perhaps it's not all edited, but they have the footage and STARTED the venture AS a combined video and audio release. Now they've scaled back because "algorithm". This is despite there being demand for full length videos. Some of us tend more toward long-form content and these teasers clearly indicate that it works for this show. I listen to podcasts very frequently, but that's for while I'm doing other things. I personally would love to see a video release because I can follow things much better from multiple speakers when watching them talk and the video would let me immerse fully, engaging further with the content, rather than it being a secondary activity.
