That’s helped a lot, thanks. After the rushing just twenty from fiftitwo macemens has survived. His castle was already settled by walls when I came up with the macemens. Castle has also all towers already up. So I needed to first take them down. Mine macemens were shielded agains the arrows of the enemy thanks to the walls of his castle, but when I destroyed two towers I just ran at the top of his castl. That feeling when Lionheart just finally died! F.. traitor. It looks a loot of easier in your game, I dont know why, I tried to be very quick. After some looong recovery, because I sold almost everything, I was able to build a very nice base against that two scumbags. Finally, nice game, thanks for the tip! It take me hours.

For me it was the hardest mission in stronghold, but you done they easily. Weary nice.

This really was tough, tough one. First i sent 35 macemen and failed. Later, when I saw this video I sent 45 of them and succeeded (with only one survivor!). Even after killing Richard the game prolonged to be hard. Uh. But I really can't figure out what one could do different to win, without rushing Richard. Only one game was harder before, one with 2 Lionharts and you in the middle.

Very late response but I did it without base rushing. I protected the stones to the north of the base with walls and built quarries. I also built a tower with a mangonel close to the the nearest caliph so I could kill his men without taking losses. It's a very hard mission and it took me about 3 tries to get it right.

Try again by following every step i make in the video and make sure at the beggining you low the speed.The mission is not impossible,trust me,play careffuly because the mission is hard.

If macemen don't work for you (they did not for me), spam assassins. You can get like 60 of them if you sell iron and pitch as well. When you do the first few and wait for more peasasnts go with the first assassins and break enemy barracks then wait for the rest. Ignore the catapult tower and just rush with the assassins. From 60 of them you'll have around 40-50 still left as opposed to that small number of macemen. Assassins may have less health but their DPS is very insane.

@@deedee.loulou8585 I literally did it with assassins. Gotta keep producing them and send them in groups which will break essential enemy buildings such as barracks, not after you produce every of them since the AI will have already built up enough to stop them.

This could have been improved with "Good things" I always use them for fast assaults to get the 25% bonus dmg. Awesome tactic tho.

do not forget: always put the game speed at minimum and restart mission so you don't waste any second. The AIs are pretty fast to enclose their keep when they have a lot of money, so you have to be fast
