remember he only gains HP when attacking "HEROES" so you might want to make sure to get some HP from heroes as desperate as possible when minions alike will not fill up your hp

Got what we needed. He’s easy to counter if you know what you’re doing but he too can fuck you up if he knows what he’s doing. This guy got everything. Ability to counter play but also can be countered. He isn’t underwhelming but isn’t overwhelming either. He is skill expressive and now if his ultimate triggers immortality it goes into long cd rightfully. But he can also abuse low cd ultimate as an offensive option

He feels easier to use than before ,not saying he was hard to play, but everything feels smoother. No need to camp waiting for Malice energy to fill up, the excess malice energy is useful now and is no longer wasted, triggering back to back Warmongers is extremely easy now giving him more potential for instakills, and the potential to engage effectively and tank tons of damage was greatly improved. And the low CD purify.

As a split pusher if you are op in 1v1 op in minion clear and also op in taking turrets it makes it a little unfair and a bit too op. So the removal of energy on towers is a perfect way to balance him out.

I would also love a video from you on ways to countering him as another fighter. I feel if that knowledge is shared he won’t be shunned banned and nerfed to ground. Minor nerfs are okay but I want moonton to keep this playstyle intact since I feel it really does makes him a fighter truly capable of doing things like Zoning, diving back lines, rotating and helping early etc..

Argus finally got a decent adjustment! Unlike Alucard where they butchered his damage by removing the extra damage on his passive in exchange for defense that you’ll never get the full effect of unless you mark all the enemies 😑

Someone in the comments said the 50% cd (when 2nd phase is not triggered) + fleeting time is overkill, and I agree 100%. This'll be likely nerfed in the future, if not now, it might be some time after his skin is released.

Yeah, in theory, the CD can go as low as 4 seconds. Imagine, a 4 seconds Purify. LOL They removed the bonus Malice recharge on the ultimate though. So right now, the ultimate is more of a shield against death. Besides the activation damage, it doesn't give any other damage impacting effects.

Yes, a bit slower in split pushing, but still not bad. Still a strong turret destroyer, especially since clearing minions is extremely easier now even on the early game. In exchange, they greatly improved his teamfight value

In what I can evaluate, this has made argus very beginner friendly, and also made him complicated in early game exchanging of damage if you know how to play him well, all they need is to extend fallen angel state and he would be ready. They nerfed his split pushing capability to split push, moonton wanted him to be a teamfighter and not a split pushing maniac that you cant kill easily.

I agree. Triggering the double Warmonger requires near 0 skills and IQ with this version. Timing is not as relevant as before when it comes to using the ult, there's also more room for mistakes. The trades on the early game is absurd.

One such things is the purify on argus ultimate is actually much more valuable now as the no death immunity triggered low cd ultimate means he has basically a 26-16 second purify ability which will allow him to be a lot more effective against some of the very heavy cc fighters..

And... Do I really have to say why it is bad to increase the CD on his Ulti? The rest of the changes make only one set viable, Critical Attacks. But it's an Extremely Bad Set for Argus... i know it's kinda a troll build but I think going semi tank with him could work, dhs and golden staff and then get def items like brute force, btw last adjustments (before it got cancelled and reintroduced) moonton said in the patch notes that the turret damage won't get resetted upon exiting the fallen angel state

Yes exactly. Someone pointed that out as well, but during Death Immune state, it gets reset. It's easy testing the death immune's turret reset, but for the Fallen Angel reset, I can only test it ingame. For some reason, I can't remember reading anything like that hahahah Maybe it might, but not getting crit items is a huge missed opportunity. The difference in Malice gain is just too big. 1 crit slash is almost half a bar. 3 crits will recharge the bar in full. Versus non crits which is 5 slashes. I think if you want a semitank, maybe do utility instead. Fleeting Time, Dragon Spear (CDR and crit), Haas Claws since you need aspd, then any def item. Though I think Guardian Helm will be pretty good since Argus doesn't care much about defense, Twilight Armor if applicable. TA reduces both magic and physical damage, if the damage meets the threshold of course. Dominance Ice if applicable. With that build you will refill malice 3 to 4 slashes, you will also have 25 to 30 CDR giving you quick access to purify (Ultimate) with a CD of 9 to 15 seconds, even lower depending on the situation. (as low as 4 or 5 seconds if you have more assists or kills), HP should be around 7.5 to 8k. Then if you plan to go roam, get Encourage for easy assists to fuel Fleeting Time. As long as you are near allies when they kill a hero, even if you didn't contribute anything, as long as you have Encourage, you will gain an assist. (not sure if they patched that though. Moonton is wacky and likes unannounced changes, but last time I checked, that works.) But again, it is a troll build, it will work given the right circumstances, but the odds won't be high.

As a person whose main hero is Argus, this modification I think is far better than the previous modification. They explained to us what happened as a passive , and despite that, I do not think they will allow it. Argus is very strong at the end game and is able to fight efficiently at eraly game , so I believe that he will get nerf after that. to be Balanced

My current issue that still stands to the adv server is that crit items provide low crit chance, imo they should all be 25% crit chance. About Argus specifically the 4+4 ult duration is definitely a W in comparison to the previous version and...well... they could give a manuall trigger to death immunity but giving the ult a second tap 👀 (As of now, if the match doesn't go well for my team, As Argus I have the option of split pushing to win. The adv server version is clearly way less effective in doing that )

Honestly, they could ship him out with just the new passive and skill 2, and he’d be fine. The passive damage nerf doesn’t even matter since they’ve already buffed his atk growth like twice. Fixes a lot of problems I have with him, especially on how reliant he was on his 2nd skill for gaining passive. I honestly thought moonton was insane for gatekeeping so much dps from Argus by moving the increased malice regen from his Ult to his missable and tiny 2nd skill. Glad they put it on his passive, now he can actually switch targets during a team fight. In laning phase, as long as the player knows how to manage his malice, I don’t see him losing against anybody. Like, this Argus looks like he’ll just wins basically every single trade. Also, looks like he’s less reliant on atk speed now that his malice regen is more crit-oriented. Do you do video requests? If you do, could you try out a full crit build? Like I mean 80% crit with all the crit items. You could go double windtalkers for a 90% crit. Might need to build boots and put on the talent, Weakness finder since you won’t have the chase of Corrosion scythe tho.

On paper, the high crit build looks promising, but it is not in a realistic or higher level of play. I have tried many different item combinations across around 40 plus games and so far, the most ideal is, a crit build with DHS. Basically, a balanced build that has crit, ASPD, and HP scaling damage. (My favorite item combo is CS, HC, FT, BF, GDS, and DHS ) Here's why (sorry for the text wall, but trust me, it's worth it): TLDR: A pure crit build is viable, it has greater damage output (DPS), but it's not very good against tanky heroes. Malice energy gaining speed is pretty much the same because of limitations on how malice energy is gained, making the disadvantages weigh more than the benefits. Full explanation: Pure crit is good only against fragile heroes, 6 or 7 times out of 10, there's a minimum of 2, sometimes 3 high HP, or high sustain heroes in a team. Sure you can focus your attention on the fragile heroes, but realistically, a lot of times, they will be guarded by either 1 or all of those tankier heroes. Pure crit builds are pretty bad against such heroes. Heroes like Thamuz, Alpha, etc. They will just get Blade Armor to counter the crit damage, return the damage thus cancelling out a huge portion of the lifesteal, and then get Domi Ice to greatly decrease the ASPD whilst also greatly reducing Argus' lifesteal. With DHS, not only will you gain more lifesteal, you will also deal damage based on their high HP pools, and of course faster ASPD. Regardless if you have 100% Crit rate or 65%, the speed at which Malice is filled up will be mostly the same. At 100% crit rate, it takes 3 slashes to fill up the malice energy. Each crit slash charges 40 malice energy, 1st slash = 40, then another 40, and then the 3rd slash, only 20 because the excess 20 does not carry over. Excess Malice is only kept if it came from a non enhanced attack. For instance, you slashed once and gain 20 malice energy and then used S2 which fills up your malice energy. That 20 malice energy from the basic attack will be kept for the next slash. But if the excess came from an enhanced attack, it will not carry over. On the other hand, if you built a more balanced, more useful item combo with only 65% of crit rate, the odds of you striking crit damage thrice is high, and even if you didn't deal 3 critical strikes, let's say just 2 crits, and one noncrit, your malice energy would still fill up in 3 slashes because, 1st crit = 40, next crit = 40, then noncrit = 20. Which means the amount of time it took you to fill up your malice energy would be the same if not faster than a build with 100% crit rate. And let's say you were unlucky and only 1 attack procs crit, the amount of time it will take to fill the bar is still roughly the same as a 100% crit build because of the faster ASPD. (If you want a demo showing the comparison of those 2 builds, I can send you a clip. Just email me and I will reply back with a video) If you are playing on lower ranks who's line ups are usually 1 tank, 1 squishy fighter, the rest squishies (built tons damage items with minimal def and HP sustain), then yeah, the pure crit build will be effective. But on higher ranks where line ups and hero builds are more optimized, I don't think that's a good idea.

I played him both exp and jungler at advanced server. He heavily needs someone who can do a good follow up for him to dive as jungler. Mid to late game is strong but early game his farming speed is not enough to make him a viable jungler. Exp still his best role

If there will be a nerf, I think, it most likely will be towards the CD of his S2 to lessen the availability of the instarefill of his malice. Another one would be the malice energy per slash could be decreased They might also decrease the bonus CDR from 50% down to either 30% or 40% And finally, they might decrease the duration of the Fallen Angel state to 2 or 3 seconds, while keeping 4 seconds duration for the death immunity

i just have some questions about the changes since i dont play in advanced server; -does casting his ultimate still remove any debuffs/still has that purify effect when casted (i may missed it if it was shown in video) -what happens if he attacks a structure while his rage bar is full?

Yes, he can still purify. Just to clarify though, the ultimate only has a cleansing effect upon manual activation. For the death immune, which is a passive auto activated effect, there is no cleanse. Same as the usual, he will deal bonus damage on the turret.

Yes, but that depends. In most cases, Malefic roar is not needed. Defensive items have been nerfed and most fighters didn't get significant buffs on their defense, pretty much most fighters now are softer than they used to be before the nerf on the defensive items. I only equip Malefic roar for rare situations where the enemies all equipped physical def items instead of a combination of physical and magic. So far it's been working for me, my winrate is better, it's the highest it has ever been.

Damn, I personally think Argus would be in the ban list with this buff. I personally think it's too op that he can almost melt terizla. I main Argus, with these buff in place in original server. It'll be only a matter of time before he gets nerfed to the ground again. While I get excited by this, I also account for the repercussion in using him. Perhaps 30 or 20% cooldown reduction would be okay to prevent him from spamming ult. After all, he's already strong with only 3 items in this buff.

@@DBringerStreams yeah, while I think the current Argus is useless vs Uranus with dominance. This buff is too strong, even scary to have on the opposing team. He'll either be on the ban list replacing terizla, or nerfed. The combined 8 second SS would've sufficed to be balanced. 4 secs to absorb most cc and 4 sec for massacre. While I appreciate the buff on his energy, i'd prefer if they brought back the 2nd skill dot damage and decreased his passive damage by a margin. This way he'll be usable enough to be tanky and deal decent damage. Cause the buff on his energy regen isn't the problem, it's the passive damage now that can be activated multiple times that's broken.

I agree with you, but there might be underlying issues why they gave him this buff... The 2 new unreleased heroes, I believe, strongly counters Argus (still not sure since there will still be a lot of changes). Also, they might have upcoming item changes. The heroes have very good mobility, range, and sustain thus increasing the number of heroes that can make Argus weep if he is not buffed. Also, items like Twilight Armor can greatly decrease Argus' effectiveness. They are planning on keeping the threshold as low as 500. That means if Argus deals greater damage than 500 in one hit, his damage will be greatly reduced. For instance, a 1,400 crit damage will only be 600.

I've played around 30 games with him now, it's not as relevant as you think as long your skills hit. The movement speed from items are enough, I'm not even using boots. 40% from S2, 40% from S3, the 2nd phase of S1 (dash), not to mention battle spells in case you decide using them such as Sprint, or Flicker. Inspire is no longer a core battle spell, if you play with Warmonger properly, Inspire is not needed. You can swap it out with other more useful battlespells if you want to. Personally, I still prefer Inspire, but if you have a hard time aiming his skills, maybe Flicker or Sprint will help keep the gap short.

Argus still on the test i saw it when i was picking in rank game on advance server there will be more adjustment or nerf or buff but this is good now harley in official server is more OP if harley is argus moontoonnwill nerf it immediately. bit 100% good buff in the entire time at lasy

Can you confirm if he gets debuff clear with the adjustment? Would this also mean if it re activates for 2nd phase that it would purify 2 cc effects?

CC (except suppress) can be cleansed upon skill activation. For death immune trigger, there is no cleanse. That's his weakness. Reserve your CC for when his death immunity activates, don't CC him while in Fallen Angel state. However, if the Argus player is good, he might still snatch 1 or 2 heroes before dying from the CC lol

Can you test his jungle clearing capability? The changes to his regen and skill 2 may mean faster creep kills which could potentially make him a jungler, not to mention hitting level 4 with coordinated team to dive under turret with his 8 second ult @@DBringerStreams

I managed to play him as Jungler earlier but the game was interrupted. The enemies concede roughly 5 mins in. Then the rest of the games I was either gold, exp, or roam. Sorry buddy, I was trying but they also want to Jungle, so I didn't have a choice but to adjust. He is pretty efficient, I reached level 4 01:29 mins into the game. The new mechanics of the passive and 2nd skill is very helpful.

Yeah buddy. This current Argus update is great than the first update one last week. I already played Argus in advance server, and he dominates every game. Not unless you have dumb teammates to begin with.

I agree buddy. It's a good update. It actually reminds me of old Argus. The damage might not be as strong, but considering the abilities he has now that he didn't have before (extended S1, autofill malice with S2, lower CD ult, 9 to 16 second CD Purify) he is pretty good. Dare I say, probably better.

But based in the comments and other channels that showcase Argus Revamp, they're satisfied in this update. So I hope devs doesnt make any changes at all and release it in Original Server as is.

With the new buff, you can charge in whenever. No need to wait for the malice energy to fill up. This buff actually allows Argus to play more aggressively, even during the early game. Not to mention that with the right build, he has access to a 4 second to 13 second cool down Purify. Crowd control, one of his weaknesses, is no longer a weakness. A challenge, yes, but no longer a weakness, all thanks to this adjustment.

@@DBringerStreams If I remember correctly, fleeting time was argus old staff before turning into the dark side. He smashed the staff(The shards around the old model) and Rafaela kept it, They might've changed the lore tho. Considering they made the staff model a necklace now.

I hate to say this but the adjustment is actually pretty good 🤌. I have not played argus yet in the advanced server but watching this incredible and in-depth video I think will abuse atk spd argus lol.

I wanted to create a deeper and video with more tests, but we lost power for a few minutes midway while I was editing it last night. So I rushed through it out of fear of having a longer power outage which could delay the upload by a day. I was supposed to also show the difference when the OG server and ADV server are equipped with crit items. SPOILER, the difference is huge. 1 critical hit fills almost half of the Malice energy. 3 critical attacks will fill the bar, and will have excess Malice energy carry over, it was absurd. Why am I explaining it, if you saw the video, it was pretty obvious even without a comparison. LOL

Crit is the way to go buddy. I mean as far as this update is concerned. If you are fighting high HP high sustain heroes, just use Demon Hunter. Personally, I prefer not using boots on Argus unless absolutely necessary. The Movement speed from Corrosion, Great Dragon Spear, his S2 and S3 are already enough.
