Nah, i actually think she's the super secret opening scene. Tara too. Here's my theory. It's been rumored for awhile that the opening scene will be shot last, and they're still casting for it. My guess is that Sam and Tara in NYC are terrorized by a trio of GF cultists. They manage to off them, but Tara gets abducted by a fourth one. Her fate is left ambiguous. Sam goes missing to track her down. She's enraged to the point of not telling anyone about her whereabouts.

Jasmin has very openly supported Melissa so I can’t imagine her agreeing to come back without Melissa’s blessing. 100% agree that Spyglass need to apologise publicly for their actions. In regards to Joel McHale; I know it wasn’t a big movie but ‘It’s A Wonderful Knife’ showed that Joel McHale can be serious as well as comedic. Also: *spoiler* He was literally one of the killers in the alternate timeline. He was intimidating and really held the emotional side of that character. I do not think he’s the killer if he’s the father of Sid’s kids BUT he could be if he’s Sid’s new husband after separating from Mark Kincaid.

@ so I used to watch him in community but besides that my only other exposure to him was when he guest judged and episode of drag race like he was at a football game. I loved that. It’s a Wonderful Knife is the only Horror genre entry I’ve seen him do. His actual character has goofy comedic origins but in the “other timeline” he’s a really tragic. **spoilers** He is also a father mourning a loss of a child, dealing with a more than miserable marriage to a woman that literally makes out with her side boyfriend at their dinner table while doing crack then has his grief turned into a weapon by the actual killer making him that realities second killer. On paper that character synopsis in the hands of a well known dramatic actor would be an easier thing to sell but he was great as the goofy dad in the beginning but also effectively showed a real sadness and a lot of depth to his personality when playing the other version of him. I think everyone in Its a Wonderful Knife couldn’t be clocked for their performances. It was a good movie, pretty solid script but could’ve with a few script revisions been a complete home run. The acting is so strong with either of the lead characters from that movie easily fitting into the cast of a Scream movie and it also has THE Canadian scream queen Katharine Isabelle - who if she were to be cast in a Scream movie, would be the only character to ever be in a movie with the original Freddy, Jason Voorhees and Ghostface. Just want to manifest that into existence. She has also been in a few other various ranging quality movies, a few slashers that aren’t quite as legendary but she is mostly recognised for Ginger Snaps and playing Gibb in Freddy vs Jason. Sorry my Joel McHale reply to you spiralled into a Katherine Isabelle fan club meeting but I have ADHD and Horror trivia, specifically about actors and Scream Queens can be a bit of an outlet for it, plus Katherine deserves more KZbin comment tangents about her greatness because she deserves more recognition as a modern day scream queen 🥹

Scream 4 had Annie, Scream 7 has Jeff. I approve of this casting. I actually agree McHale's prolly not the killer but I don't agree that it'd be lazy if he does end up being Ghostface. Previous versions of Scream 2 and 3 introduced elements of a Ghostface cult that the movies themselves ended up abandoning before production, Williamson's The Following used abandoned elements of the Ghostface cult as a template for that show, Williamson is writing and directing, he was gonna bring back Stu in 3 before he left that movie, he recycled abandoned elements of HIS Scream 3 for 4, Scream 6 recycled abandoned elements of Scream 2 and introduced those 2 film students as would-be Ghostfaces trying to finish Richie's movie. WHAT IF... The Ghostface cult is real, maybe starting as something as Stab-a-thon. Richie was apart of it, Jill and Charlie were apart of it (they'd be the same age as Richie), Richie recruited ("radicalized") Amber, the two film students at the beginning of 6 were apart of it as well, and it's revealed that just like in Williamson's original plan for Scream 3 Stu is alive, the Ghostface cult leader, out for revenge for Billy, recruiting Richie the boyfriend of his partner's daughter and Amber literally housed in his old home, mirroring Roman recruiting him and Billy, all for the same purpose as when he recruited Jill and Charlie: to kill Sidney. And just like by Scream 3, by Scream 7 not only did they make their own movie, but they made their own protagonist, Sam (and not Sidney), and went their own direction targeting Sam (and not Sidney), daughter of the original killer Billy (Tara doesn't even know who Stu is in Scream 5, let alone that Amber lives in his old house), and you bring back Stu, the forgotten original killer, and Sidney, the final girl who disappeared, tying the new Scream movies with the old Scream movies, and even using the behind-the-scenes drama in real life to justify the narrative pivot in a way that doesn't totally suck. Using this set-up they could make McHale's character apart of that cult, I personally wouldn't just cuz everyone is gonna be sus of him from the very beginning. I would take advantage of that suspicion and craft a character the audience could fall in love with Ala Dewey, they already got the casting down pat I wouldn't waste it on shock value, although marrying Sidney Fucking Prescott, having kids with her, a life with her, just to betray her in her most desperate hour is such a mindfuck that only someone apart of a cult would do and as much as I don't wanna see it happen, I kinda do. No one deserves a happy ending more than Sidney tho, so here's hoping she gets it!

Im convinced there's a scene in Scream 7 where Mindy and Chad mention Tara, Sam and their mom and the Monday after release it'll be confirmed Melissa and Jenna are part of the cast for scream 8, plus whoever is playing their mom. Think about it. Everyone agrees Sidney didn't get enough screen time in Scream 5, she wasn't in Scream 6 and it did well. Maybe the solution is make Carpenter sister movies and Sidney Prescott movies separately. As far as Jasmine Savoy Brown returning, Melissa didn't quit because she disagreed with Spyglass, she got fired. I don't believe the Dewey theory for Chad Meeks. Remember that in Scream 5 Dewey was no longer the chief of police. Dewey was divorced from Gale as well so there's no more arc for Dewey. Dewey going out like a hero protecting Sam was the wrapping up his story. There's still plenty of story to tell with Chad.

Chris what if for the first time we have a ghost face killer that protects Sydney? Being Joel against other ghost faces who want to kill her and there kids? It would be a neat twist, like you never know if there's two ghost faces bearing down on Sydney and the other one just stabs the first one in the throat right in front of her??

Joe McHale is a homerun. Hes charasmatic and snarky. Plus has been doing serious roles with Mandy(or whatever the lil girl avtion movie is called), a wonderful knife(he is the most serious part of the movie), and Assassination Nation. Ppl see him as the dude from The Onion Movie or Community and think its a weird casting but in actuality it fits the bill. Almost every Scream movie has a telvision star in its central cast. Hes just keeping up with the standard

She starts the movie married to Patrick Dempsey, but gets divorced in the middle of the movie and Joel enters as a new love interest , but as you know with scream movies...the new love interest is sometimes the twist ghostface , Joel had an intense role recently as a head chef on The Bear and he could be a cool ghostface. Or he is just a celeb that signed up to get knock out !

For the Ghostface who faked her death in Scream VI, I think they explained the missing body problem by saying the dad killed another girl offscreen and said that was his daughter, essentially producing a fake body. Pretty sure it was a throwaway line in the theatre reveal scene. Doesn’t excuse the shock value writing, but there is an explanation

So, Joel McHale going to be ghostface, you can see it now. Like when it was rebooted, and from the start you knew Jack Quaid was ghostface. You can see it happening again here. Good twist to this one, the in laws are ghostface as well :)

Ok hear me out. What if one of the killers is revealed only to the audience. And in the sequel you watch how they get away with murder until they are figured out?? Fun way for Mindy to point out obvious things that the audience knows but the characters don’t. Mindy - “Oh? What if he killed her then stuffed the body in a bin, then climbed back into the building?” - characters look at her doubtful - audience watched character literally do just that. 😂😂

I've had a similar idea in mind for awhile now too. New trilogy of movies totally separate from Scream, Syd Prescott and everything we know. This trilogy would see Kirby as the lead but she shows up at the end of the first movie after Ghostface kills everyone and wins. No reveal. Next two movies would be her investigating and hunting down Ghostface as well as for the first time ever, we see things from the killers POV as they plan, stalk and kill. 3rd movie ends with one of the killers escaping but assumed dead.

Strange theory but the new scream movies seem to model elements from the original trilogy. Scream 5 with the first one, Scream 6 with the family thing from Scream 2. What if they cast Joel McHale as Sydney’s film husband if they’re making another Stab and they’re making another movie within a movie like they were in Scream 3?

I can see him being Ghostface (I don’t think he will at all just see the concept) but would be completely be the wrong choice. It would be something like “we’ve been married x amount of years, you’re the centre of attention, ghostface this, ghostface that” and would just be horrible writing. What I see really happening in this: Sydney did not come back for Scream 6. Logic would seem to be that she would stay out of all fights moving forward unless she had a big reason to come back…. Which would fall in line with having Mark as the opening kill in the movie. I can totally see an opening scene where he is killed- cut to a scene where Sydney comes home with her teenage daughter to the aftermath- receives a phone-call and let the cat and mouse game begin

I needed it to be Kincaid imo. They planted the seed in 5 & 6, begged for him to come back, he said they had been to him & asked for him back & they said it was him, when they had Sid say her husband was Mark at home. I also so could see the connection between them in 3. If they hadn't have planted the seed in 5 & 6 it wouldn't of been an issue, altho I'm sure I will get over it in time 😂😂

I saw a theory on instagram but Joels role. They thought that maybe Joel isnt playing Neves Sydneys husband but the Sydney's husband in a STAB movie. Now what if this movie is going to parallel Scream 3 in a way. 5 was like scream 1 the 6th movie wasnt exactly like scream 2 but it had its similarities. So what if Scream 7 has some aspects of Scream 3 where movie actors are involved. This time it might not even bad Stab it might be like a spoof movie like Scary Movie. In that case Joel might be perfect casting for the husband if hes spoofing her real husband.

Honestly, the Scream franchise took a major hit with Dewey's death. That should have been Gail Weathers who got killed because her character is just annoying and she wasn't loved by most fans anyway. I'm hoping Scream 7 returns to a more edgy yet intelligent who is ghost face type of movie like Scream 1 and 2. I know it's a long shot but I'm still hoping Stu returns in Scream 7 at the end as a cliffhanger where it's all explained in Scream 8. There would be a lot to explain after that but I believe Kevin Williamson could pull off the swerve and make it work. Imagine Stu's on screen explanation for everything we didn't see after the end of the original Scream. The final movie would then be setup as the last confrontation in Scream 8 of Stu versus Sydney. And that's where the franchise should end because they risk ruining the overall legacy of this franchise by dragging it on.
