In case anyone's confused about what James mentioned in the latter half of the video with the 'Slenderman killings', the stabbings were an attempted murder by two pre-teenaged girls (both twelve-years old at the time), Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser, on their friend Payton Leutner. They lured her into the forest under the guise of playing hide and seek before stabbing her 19 times. In fact, many hit her torso, and one had just missed a major artery of her heart, and she still managed to crawl just enough to find a cyclist. The two girls claimed to have done it to appease Slenderman, genuinely believing that Slenderman was real and that he would come after them next if they didn't offer a sacrifice. This happened in the state of Wisconsin in May 2014.

Stu being alive is about as much of a stretch as homeboy surviving a total of what 16-17 stabs when 12 were in the chest and stomach 😂 scream isn’t about being realistic. I loved how superhuman Ghostface seemed. Also loved that he didn't care what he killed them with including a gun. Idk this scream was just so brutal also it's refreshing seeing the Core 4 survive. Tara did annoy me a bit acting as if she can go back to a normal life when she literally know Gail & even Sydney (even though she not in this movie) been going through it for decades at this point.

The Bodega scene is probably my favourite scene in the movie. The lack of hesitation from Ghostface is scary, by how he just butchered 3 people. And…come on. When Tara and Sam were sneaking out of the store was 100% inspired by the kitchen scene from Jurassic Park

I rewatched this movie in anticipation of the kill count and i can say with confidence that it's my second favourite in the franchise. The cold opener is without a doubt the best since the original, the kills are more violent than ever before, the chase scenes are all great especially Gale's, Kirby Reed returning as an FBI agent fucking rules, Max Laferriere did an amazing job as Ghostface's physical performer, the entire cast did a great job and the Shrine, holy shit the Shrine is such a cool setpiece. There's so much to love about this movie and i couldn't possibly name it all. This kill count was also great, the fake-out count gave me a good laugh. Great job to all you guys and gals. Have a good weekend.

Mindy saying Stuart could still be alive is a meta reference to on the internet, some people over the years would say Stewart is still alive despite him meeting his demise in the first film. Most likely, they have good reason for feeling this way, given the fact that the original plot of scream 3 was supposed to have him return from the first film to be Ghostface again, but the Columbine shootings in the real world made the script change.

I was one of those who didn’t love Barrera’s acting in Scream 5 but she absolutely didn’t deserve so much hate and harassment for it. The whole film was different, and at times too hammy (I personally don’t enjoy the Billy hallucinations), but it didn’t suffer from her acting at all. And as James said, she nails it in this one. Her physical scenes are great to watch!
@TRal55 Жыл бұрын
It would have been a much stronger choice in Mindy's monologue about the rules to a horror franchise, if she'd said that main characters are virtually safe, because they need the franchise to continue. It would have also added to the "Core 4" theme. Then when the Core 4 characters start getting brutally stabbed we would have been extra surprised. And then when they end up surviving, it would have become a clever callback. At least then the ridiculous survival-after-being-brutally-stabbed phenomenon would have at least been acknowledged somehow. Still ridiculous though, especially Chad after his brutal double stabbing.

Cool what really helped make this one good is they mention all the other killers instead of just Billy and Stu and kind of says what happened after Jill did it in 4. The opening was pretty good with 2 alternate killers. I thought they could’ve done a little more with the college teacher and Anika’s death was kind of brutal. I’m glad Gail and Chad survived but if he survived that then dewey could’ve survived 5. Also they’re paying attention to the fans and had details like the red right hand song and all the props in the theater. The old look for the mask is one of the best too

During the scene where Sam was feeling down about the abuse(online and in person)she'd be receiving, I kind had a feeling that's how Melissa felt in real life too. I wasn't blown away by her performance in the 5th film as it felt kind of.... muted. But I don't think I could ever see myself reacting with the amount of vitriol as many did about her. Saw a lot of racist comments too. Like, damn. That's a level of passionate hatred that only someone completely detached from reality could muster up. It's called a hobby, people. Get one. Anyways, I told myself I'd give her another chance with Scream 6 and I'm glad I did. She did so much better during this film and it gave me a newfound appreciation for her character. As sad as it is that Neve is no longer involved with the Scream franchise(at least for now), Melissa proved herself a very competent lead in this movie.

Roman definitely earned that comment from Kirby about him going solo in his ghostface murders. He was the only ghostface killer to do so, and honestly it couldn't been that easy for him since he had to handle all the murders and have an allaby for his disappearances (until he faked his death). I saw a video on 20 notable times killers in scream franchise gave themselves away and Roman only had one which was the fact he wasn't at that party cast and crew have after finishing a film or in Scream III case film being canceled. Incase anyone was wondering, number 1 was of course Jill telling Dewie she now has a matching Stab wound to the shoulder as Gale. And there were some on the list for Quinn Ethan and Detective Bailey.
