If there's one other thing James Gunn can learn from both the DCEU and more recent MCU, is that each of your films can have the director's just have there own creative vision and each film and show to feel different and break the over saturated comic book formula. While also having story first and connections second. I know that's a lot but however I do have hope in James Gunn.

@@tonymata8070 I don't agree. In my opinion, while it wasn't a bad movie by any means, for a DCEU movie, Zack Snyder had no idea how to write superman, though it was not all his fault, he was only the co-writer. The entire world treated him like an alien and he was even interrogated by Lois Lane and put him in cuffs. No other interpretation would do that. I don't think Zack Snyder understood the character of Superman. Why would they put him in cuffs? He's a superhero. And that's how you treat him? They completely dehumanized Superman. He may be an alien, but in all other interpretations, he's had a human side to him, where people looked up to him as their hero, but there's literally a line that says "the alien, we're calling him superman" like wtf. That is not how you portray superman. Don't get me wrong, I think Henry Cavill is a fine actor, I really liked him as Sherlock but as Superman, not so much. I liked his suit but that was about it. I did not like his version. In my opinion, the weakest portrayal, writing wise. And that's coming from someone who stopped watching the DCEU after Wonder Woman came out as that was the only good one.

You know, the reboot announcement caused a lot of issues, but maybe also saved future DC, because they either had to announce it early and take the loss on the last 5 movies or not announce it and essentially let Gunn take the fall for all of that essentially ruining any chance of ever getting to his own universe, by then people would not have been interested if they thought he was behind the last few movies, heck even now people are against him and blame him for some of them. @@BrandonTBlackwell I'm not talking current DCEU dude, that was already on it's way down the drain. What I mean is, specifically FUTURE DCU projects would likely have never even been given the chance if those in charge (Gunn and Safran) were directly associated with the past DCEU ones. Obviously it's been super detrimental, but hopefully only in the short term. It's not like they weren't going to hire Gunn, and it's also not like they were going to try and keep it secret somehow, they weren't going to say, hey Gunn, come back in a five years so we can finish tanking our franchise before we bring you on. Frankly I'm surprised they even released anything after the announcement, no idea why they didn't just make the call to cut their losses early. THAT is what really screwed them over. The situation in the dceu is that they rushed without establishing the characters, world, or storyline properly. The pointless DCEU, which was a reward to how the fans reacted early. It is funny to hear how fans were creaming their pants over BvS, but afterwards complained that it was too soon and that "rushing" the DCEU was the problem. Make up your minds. No, the problem was that Nolan and Snyder did NOT set out to create a shared universe in the style of the MCU, but baby-fans rejected the project. WB panicked, butchered theatrical cuts, refused the time necessary for character developments before a JL movie (of which they butchered and made "sweet"), and then enlisted Hamada to deliver eight straight MCU comedy-clone flops. Thanks fans! Blame yourselves. Now you all whine about the MCU being too sweet and not serious enough. The lot of you have no idea what you want.

It was WAY too early for Batman v. Superman. There should’ve AT THE VERY LEAST been a Man of Steel 2, a solo Batman movie, and (maybe) a Wonder Woman movie. Batman v. Superman is a major motion picture event you gotta build up to and flesh out that conflict. You can’t just rush into that right off the bat.

Rest in peace DCEU. I hope the DCU will not face the same mistakes that the DCEU have. There is a lot of potential with the DCEU but sadly it ended too soon and it's for the best. It started strong and it ended so weak. When I was a kid watching Man of Steel, it makes me interested in watching comic book movies. At first after watching the movie I thought it's just gotta be like a trilogy where it's only Superman which I didn't realize it's their starting point in creating the cinematic universe. Henry Cavill's iteration of Superman is one of the things I will never forget about the DCEU.

10:56 I remember visiting family in Kenya around this time and I missed so many movies. 1. Wonder Woman 2. Captain Underpants 3. The Mummy (well I was 8 years old so maybe it's a good thing I didn't see that one) And that's it.

I love Snyder’s movies. Blue Beetle is dope too. Peacemaker was surprisingly great

I remember when Batman vs Superman came out. I heard rumors about the movie, because my friends and my brother’s friends told me that they were making a Batman vs Superman movie. And apparently they were right

The two things I hated most in BVS were Jesse Eisenberg as Lex and the lackluster design of Doomsday. I remember loving Batman's warehouse fight and wished we could've gotten a film with more of that. Also it's wild that we got a DC cinematic universe where Batman and Joker didn't even fight each other on screen. Really hope Gunn can give us a more cohesive cinematic universe. I'm cautiously optimistic

By the end of this 10 year story arc, the only thing that became clear is that truly Warner Bros's greatest arch-enemy... was Warner Bros.

while the dceu for me is a good universe even with its flaws I find it to be a prequel to Gunns Chapter 1, and what Makes me really sad is when I saw Aquaman 2 in theaters knowing it was the last film of the dceu it was by far one of the best visually looking films we have had on pair with ZSJL, and ofc Blue Beetle especially that mature storytelling of Carapax's life, sadly I grew up with this universe starting from 2013 when I was 12 to right now being 22 I love this universe and I will go back and watch them time and time again, 🥲and most of my film reviews of this series is around the 6-10 marking average (that includes THE FLASH, its one of the very few films u can watch the film while working out), but as of right now Im skeptical but hopeful in Gunns Superman Legacy film but im intrigued to see where it goes (especially if all things go well we can finally have that Swamp Thing movie) 🤔

I was so pumped for bvs....I was so upset and let down ...UNTIL I saw the directors cut...that version is amazing... theatrical version took all the plot out. The directors cut of it is perfection paired with the Snyder cut
