My thoughts on your lack of walk around video from the dealer. I own a 2017 Leon and have also had it full serviced at the main dealer. It’s done 115k miles so it’s had more services than yours so far. I have had 2 occasions when I didn’t get a video when I had a service. Both times I later realised I had a leak. 1st time coolant 2nd time gearbox oil. My thinking is they didn’t want me to see the leaks on the videos as they can’t be bothered or are not skilled enough to fix them so they pretend they are not there. Just a thought, and seeing your coolant leak I’m more convinced I’m right. Great channel 👍🏼

@@SamAustin thanks. I find they are always keen for an easy up sell. Tires etc but anything that requires skill they ignore.

I wouldn’t worry about refurbing all your wheels. 5 or 6 years is pretty normal. The idea that you run out of metal to refurb is a bit like saying that you can only have so many haircuts. Your 3 door R looks amazing …. Go with it …….. and stay with main dealers for service work. Your car, with those looks, could now be an appreciating asset and non-dealer services will not help that

Another great video! Just had my waterpump/thermostat housing replaced after 31,200 miles MK7R 15 reg! Had a slow leak for the last few months!

Hello Sam, great video! Always look forward to seeing your golf r and vw videos. Currently I drive a 2011 mk6 jetta 2.5L which is a fwd 5 cylinder car. It is a rather boring car when it comes to spirited driving. Soon I hope to purchase a golf R in the states and was wondering if you think the mk8 golf R is worth buying from your personal experience driving the car. Any feedback and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the positive feedback and I am glad you enjoy the videos. 100% I would go for a MK8 Golf R in the states but I would choose a manual over a DSG for that added fun factor👍😁

When I had a 2019 BMW m140i I had a service carried out by my dealer (Sytner Tamworth) for free as my new order (m135i) had overrun its expected delivery date buy several months which pushed my m140i into its first major service. They carried out a full service and sent me a full health check all for free. I guess one dealer experience can differ from the another as your experience shows.

Thank you Mark for sharing your experience with your BMW m140k. Your 100% right it can be dealer to dealer although I have been to a few different VW ones over the 5 years and I cannot say I've ever really been impressed 😬

I love my Mk8r but do feel they have cut some corners, such as the rear parcel shelf feels so cheap and flimsy, no gas strut for the bonnet, I love the colour of the seats but I do think the material is thin, I’m not sure how the diamond cut wheels will hold up either as there is a mark on them already after only 600 miles. It drives amazing and the engine is great and don’t regret my purchase but I think VW could have done better.

Best independent local to you would be AKS Tuning in Bedfordshire…..main dealer whilst in the warranty period, there after, not really worth it
