Great vid again Sam 👌🏽 It's going to be interesting to see the price point of this, and what discounts we'll be able to get. I've been looking at a golf R for some time now, I really like the look of this with all the bugs ironed out. The biggest issue for me is what the Mark 9 is going to be, with everything going electric, do I wait for that as its either going to be a hybrid or electric, or do I get the last fully engined R. I have a lot of issues with electric cars, price, charging points and battery life issues being the main ones. I've just taken the dogs to the park and there was a guy from my local Audi dealership going around a brand new S3, didn't even have plates. He let me have a quick look round and I've gotta say, it's a nice looking car, inside and out. It will be very interesting to see how the two cars stack up side by side with the same 333hp.

Absolutely love it but I'm still going to check out the new facelift Cupra Leon 333bhp!! Great update again say would love to know the exact prices so I'm sure you will be on it straight away with the prices!!👌🏻👍🏻

So to give some advice, I would spend the extra money and step into an 8R. It supercedes the 7/7.5 in most areas but in particular performance and handling. I agree the 8.5 is going to be too high a premium but I don't think there's much more offered over the 8R. Good luck with whatever you choose and cool video

I often go back and forth with this over the last 7 years. Today I am in the same state that my car is great as it is in MK7 form. I love the unique quad front lights, the reduction of tech and a few neat features which sets it apart for me. I could see myself owning it for another 7 years no problem. Thank you for the advice and the positive feedback towards the video. Plenty more to exciting videos to come 👍

@SamAustin oh Just to clarify, I wasn't saying get rid of the mk7 I was however saying of you were looking to upgrade then the 8R would be a much smarter move than the 7.5. Keep the content coming

I am not sure either but I check regularly and will share a video once it is available. I will ask VW next week as I am set to see them for an event 👍

I am a big fan also. The facelift MK8.5 has something extra for me that perhaps the pre-facelifted MK8 R did not offer. Happy you like it also 🙂

Golf R or Audi S3? I’m undecided 🤔

R looks better to me. S3 big butt look is a bit off.

For me I would go with the Golf R although previously the Audi S3 has actually been quite well priced in comparison. If the S3 is the same price or less expensive for me it would slightly push me towards the Audi due to the stronger badge and residuals. Also, it is the same car underneath as the Golf R. Looks wise I also prefer the Golf R particularly with this new 8.5 Facelift refresh. What are you currently leaning towards?

@@SamAustin I’m leaning towards the Audi. Here in Portugal the S3 is actually 3-4K more expensive than the Golf R. But I think I prefer the interior of the Audi. However this new facelift of the R is very tempting, specially if they include DCC as standard and keep or lower the price as rumored.
