This episode explores the trauma/abuse by giving time for the characters to explore as to what fuels them collectively and personally. You can tell each person is going through their own rebellion.

Yes. We need to feel why individuals are willing to put themselves in danger or pledge themselves to a larger cause. because it collectively represents all of the individuals sacrifices.

Completely agree about Syril. NO idea where it's going... but can't WAIT till it gets there!

Gotta say that TIE fighter fly-by was badass. In the theater with the directional sound it would have been an amazing experience.

Yeah the biggest upset this show has gave us is that we have to listen to it with anything but Dolby Atmos
@JustWasted3HoursHere2 жыл бұрын
@@MM-vs2et This show, so far, has been fantastic. Slow paced, yes. But certainly not boring. I think it is my new favorite Star Wars show, even over Obi Wan and The Mandalorian (which set the bar very high indeed).

This series is great at telling stories, it feels like we’re getting several different films

I am more and more impressed with this series with each new episode. The dialog is realistic and often clever without making anyone seem two dimensional, even the people in the Empire. And the plot is moving along at a rate that satisfies without being rushed or sluggish. Smart team on this one, for sure. Oh, and of course the production values are film-level.

Its true, the Syril arc is intriguingly opaque, but my prediction is he somehow gets hooked up with Dedra, probably after the news of the big heist on Aldhani spreads through the ISB, and that by the end of the first season Syril’s faith in the Empire is shaken up and he joins the Rebellion
@restlessoblivion2 жыл бұрын
I agree with the first part. I think Syril will hear about the upcoming heist after it happens, put two and two together, and go find Dedra. But I don't think he'll join the rebellion. At least not this early in the show. I'm hoping we get a couple of really good, love to hate them, GoT style Imperial villains... And I hope that includes Syril and Dedra either working together or eventually becoming rivals in the Imperial command.

"Andor" episode 5 is.... I mean... some will say things need to "go faster", and I'm over here in these un-f@&king-believably well-written and gracefully executed moments going, "slow down brain, slow down" to the flood of realizations and thoughts spamming my mind with each scene... and the satisfaction it brings. I can't believe this show continues with each episode to skillfully humanize and handle with such care a fictional sci-fi product whose most famous and important saga was never even considered for this level of treatment, and that is the real tragedy (and it hurts to speak that truth). Star Wars' ORIGINAL fans (yes I said it like that, fight me) deserve this. The younger generation who stumbled in at the prequels won't fully appreciate it- if at all. Dammit I love this show.

Yes its a slow build up but none of it is filler. Its all important interesting stuff. A deep dive into the birth of the Rebellion and the workings of the Empire. Love this show. Really wish I could binge it but I'll take the drip feed.

I love this show because it feels real. No magic space wizards, no impossibly badass mercs in invincible armour just people all trying to do what they think is right. And that TIE buzzing the camp was an awesome example of that. Because it adds tension, because it helps build the narrative but mostly because bored fighter pilots buzzing remote communities is totally something people would do. This series is grounded and imo that's what makes it the best SW property in years.

Somehow this show has managed to make TIEs feel scary instead of just cannon fodder.

This episode had so much! So much tension between the group. Still trying to see if they can trust Clem/Cassian which I totally get. I still think Luthen’s shop assistant reminds me of Qi’ra.

Not sure what they are planning for Syril, but for sure his disobeying orders to make the events from the first episode look like an accident and sweep it under the rug are eventually going to come back and bite him in the ass, especially since it resulted in the deaths of several Imperial soldiers.

I don't think K2SO quite fits the tone of this show. Throwing a comedic relief character in a more grounded story like this may not work.
