At this point it’s going to take a hell of a lot of raving reviews for me to ever buy another razor again. I spent well over 1,000.00 buying and trying different DE, cartridge razors and disposable razors and settled on the Karve Overlander as my favorite DE razor, with the Leaf Twig in second place. I sold all the others including expensive razors like the Rex Konsul in Rhodium & the Rockwell 6S. For DE razors, nothing can shave against the grain as closely & gently under the nose as the Overlander. As much as I love DE razors and the sustainability aspect of not using plastics constantly, I also found that no other razor shaves better than the Gillette Sensor 2 Plus disposable, hands down. If anyone knows of a better DE razor & a better disposable razor than these, please let me know. It will take a lot of convincing though, as I tried well over 30 different razors to narrow down my favorites, and the rest I sold or put into the garbage. The market is so flooded with different razors and frankly I find most of them to be mediocre at best.

Do you get worried about it rusting, how would you clean it?

Not really, it's a stainless steel razor that doesn't remain submerged under water for lengthy periods of time, so I would just thoroughly towel and air dry after use. As far as cleaning it, I think a soft bristle tooth brush can get into all the spaces, and maybe a pipe cleaner if you really want to scrub the inner portion of the razor.

Great video. Ive been enjoying osprey for last week is great razor. Having hard time deciding if want to keep or return and get titanium that looks to be soon. Wonder if osprey in ti will be as great as blackbird.

Wow 350 so more expensive than the base SS Rex Ambassador. It is a neat looking razor, and I dig the brass insert. It definitely has that luxury look to it. Great shave, thank you for the information.

I notice the Osprey is made of 303 stainless steel which can be susceptible to pitting. The Rex Konsul as comparison is made of Marine Grade Stainless Steel 316, which is higher quality… I’m curious with the intricacy of the Osprey what it looks like in several years🤷🏼‍♂️. Thoughts? What’s your opinion? Should it be a concern?

Nice review Jon. Razor looks great and seemed to do a good job. For this price Blackland should include a matching tool to easily take out the brass insert. I am guessing it will be available in the future but for extra cash. While you are trying adjustables… try a Rex Konsul too.

I like adjustable. I start at a three or four setting to get my skin used to the blade then ratchet it up to five to catch missed stray hairs.

Jon How does the Osprey compare to the Konsul overall? Efficiency and comfort levels.

Hi Wally, both razors have very comfortable settings, however I do think that at the higher settings, the Konsul is a better as far as maintaining comfort while increasing efficiency.

Cool! Altho I find adjustables really more for those who love the outdoors. Who can’t frequently get in a good shave every day. Who have varying lengths of facial hair at random intervals. Otherwise I see everyone who had an adjustable just leave it on one setting and never use the other settings. So IMO it could be the best razor ever created, but the price tag, along with the limited functionality of the adjustability makes this most certainly a no go for me. Glad you tested it out tho and great video Jon.
