Entry Log #432, Scarlet Dawn Where do I start? So much has happened recently. I was contacted by my squadron leader that the blasted Steel Striders have been decimated. The news reached us late, as we were far away from the main base. However, one of our scout ships confirmed that what was once 'Damascus' was now in the depths. We were thankful that the only faction that was opposing us left was gone so we could take over. In its place stood fleets from the Lathrixian Legion. A few months ago, some sort of robot called 'River Rat' annihilated the Deepwater Guard and proceeded to attack other factions. We weren't scared then, as we knew our highly advanced tech would turn their fleets to dust if they tried to attack us. But recently, we've started getting fretful. I mean, they did destroy our arch-nemesis, the Gray Talons, but they've destroyed pretty much everything else. They recently declared war on the traitors known as the Twin Guard and I fear once they're done with the TG, they'll turn to us. Our dictator decided to form an alliance with those religious maniacs, would you believe it! We saw what they did to the Onyx Watch. Befriended them and then turned their fleets against them. I guess the dictator didn't take that into account. Well, it's going to be a bloody war but I'm confident that we'll win. The Hydra isn't outdated, we just retrofitted the thing! Didn't you see the blinky lights? I think R0SEFALL would like how we've been treating it. Frag changes are currently live for all weapons that use them. You can even see frag damage get changed in the APS ammo customizer when changing the cone angle. Not implemented for missiles since that UI is so outdated, but we can hope it finally gets some love in the near future. You know that you can configure the settings on the water start AI card, right? Let's you cut down on a few ACBs there. Shuts down navigation and thereby propulsion, deploys balloons, and then detaches the balloons once high enough. Does the job of 3 ACBs with one block. Seems like the Abyss mostly uses radar for detection. With the jets being so small their radar return wasn't great, which meant low accuracy against them.

I want faction battles to exists, here's how'd they work: two fleets engage, a 25 and a 15, the game gives the bigger one a higher chance of winning but the small one can still win, dificulty is added into the mix too. I'd also like faction trading, where they send you (or friends) a supply ship with max resources that travels to your nearest force and drops off the resources.

The Hydra is indeed a Rosefall craft. Based on his Dragon from Avatar. The little twin rotor Dromeo drones that some of the Steel Striders use are also his, based on the Scorpion gunships from Avatar as well.

Rather than Seeker A B C, you should give them altitude and weapon designations. So 100S would be 100 altitude and short range, 200C would be 200 altitude cruise missile

I haven't finished the video yet, but be careful using auto cannons, they don't play very well with failsafes, and can still shoot your ship because it can't cancel the burst if your ship turns into its line of fire.

You are correct. The Hydra was originaly designed by Rosefall, based on the Dragon gunship from James Cameron's Avatar. In fact it is quite old, almost two years old. It, and the other SS helicopters have been overhauled by the kotl crew just last month and it has very little in common with the original model to be honest. Now they circle-strafe around their target at a distance. Think of it as the SS helicopter's gimmick. :)

Im so jealous of your building talents, I cant make crap in from the depths thats functional in the campaign, that doesnt cost upwards of 600k resource and isnt really worth that in combat effectiveness. E.g. I just made a really really nice cram/adv. c ship but it costs far too much to run, or my planes when they roll fall out of the sky.

I was hoping you'd keep the simple lasers and try to make them work. I decided to experiment with them a bit recently. they're really quirky, but a battery of them can output some utterly absurd damage. a group of, i think 10 of them was carving through the armour of a bulwark like butter. it could even get through the heavy armour. it /looked/ like water didn't make a difference either, though I didn't test that fully. it's limitations (perfectly fixed-foward, the warmup, and long firing duration) means it's actually surprisingly interesting of a weapon to design around too. not sure how practical it'll be, but I've /got/ to make at least one ship that uses a bunch of them as the primary weapon system.

Well yes, building one giant vehicle is the easiest and fastest way to beat the campaign - But I also find this very boring as you can build terribly but as long as It's big it tends to win anyway, I'm just trying to have fun. ^_^ Also my Medrengard which is only 34k volume already beats every fleet I've encountered by itself, so increasing its size even slightly would grantee this campaigns victory.. which is just boring haha :P

Vehicle Logs: "Hydra Seeker" Drone Carrier | "Seeker" Attack Drone The Hydra Seeker is a converted Steel Striders helicopter gunship armed with lots of missiles and some autocannons. The converted Seeker version carries 6 Seeker attack drones, each at varying heights to prevent crashing. The Seekers are armed with missiles of varying size depending on the variant of Seeker the missiles are mounted on. The ones closer to the enemy have light swarm missiles, while ones farther up have cruise missiles. Simple, yet effective, although they only serve as a distraction. _"NOT THE BEES!!!"_

Hey lath I play a lot of paladins, a game similar to overwatch but more like a moba than overwatch. In the game there is a chest called a necromancer's chest which you can get cosmetic items. One of these item is called the hand of nurgle (or something similar. It definitely has the word nurgle in it). Pretty sure this is a warhamer reference

Why not put a sub vehicle spawner on a sub vehicle and have the sub vehicle spawn something akin to a cruise missile? Or forego the engine on the sub sub vehicle and just have it glide to its target?

you should equip the seekers with bombs. aircraft-based torpedoes don't work well but bombs can be hard to counter, have good payload and are actually interesting.
