The Telenovela is called Maria La Del Barrio and the context is insane. The Woman was obsessed with this Rich Man who fell in love with the Main Character, but the main character ended up losing her mind after getting unintentionally addicted ti drugs, and while she was starting to rehabilitate herself, her son was put up for adoption (because she traded him for food while on a drug trip)...and the son was adopted by the WOMAN tryna groom him into being hers and hers alone to make up for losing his father!

Love that "Anime vs. MMO healer" video The dichotomy is beautiful: the anime healer is a Red Cross nurse, a pure angel in white, a donut Dolly....the MMO healer is the pissed off USMC Corpsman, that heals you, slaps you, sends you back in the grinder, and if you fall he's liable to grab your gun and do stuff himself. And once you reach epic levels as Cleric, you graduate from Corpsman to Parajumper, which, as Fat Electrician said, "Made their whole career out of giving the Reaper blue balls"

@@lyubit9841 Rush pullers, mass pullers, single fighters... Many types of tanks. I like the ones who tackle manageable groups as they come THEN move on. You can only really tackle 20 enemies at once if your stats outstrip the whole thing by a lot.

I'm from Brazil, which alongside Mexico is one of the main producers of telenovelas in the world, and in the 90s and 2000s we had a lot of mexican novelas here, and probably the most remembered by us is this one, Maria La Del Barrio (or in portuguese, Maria Do Bairro) everyone here watched this one back in the day and was the main responsible for the name of Thalia be reconigzed by brazilians, other very famous here (and my personal favorite) is La Usurpadora, with Gabriela Spanic

Ah yes, the "por que besas a la lisiada" is to this day a top meme in latin America, only toppled by moments like "mi hijo es n gro?!" (my son is black?!). For context, in LATAM, the word doesn't have the baggage it does in the US but even for us Latinos, that moment left us all jaw dropped even by early 2000s standards.
