The Woman was obsessed with this Rich Man who fell in love with the Main Character, but the main character ended up losing her mind after getting unintentionally addicted ti drugs, and while she was starting to rehabilitate herself, her son was put up for adoption (because she traded him for food while on a drug trip)...and the son was adopted by the WOMAN tryna groom him into being hers and hers alone to make up for losing his father!

I'm from Brazil, which alongside Mexico is one of the main producers of telenovelas in the world, and in the 90s and 2000s we had a lot of mexican novelas here, and probably the most remembered by us is this one, Maria La Del Barrio (or in portuguese, Maria Do Bairro) everyone here watched this one back in the day and was the main responsible for the name of Thalia be reconigzed by brazilians, other very famous here (and my personal favorite) is La Usurpadora, with Gabriela Spanic
