Well I and many other past choir members have been looking for something like this for years. Where have you been?! I started singing in a really decent choir (auditions and trials etc.) and my one problem is pronouncing the Latin. I've never learnt or sung it and it takes me literally hours, sometimes days(!) to translate it into words I can read automatically and write it down! For example, 'Agnus' in Latin translates to 'Ah-nues' and una nobilis into oonah nobeleez etc. (!) Sooo glad I've found you. Many thanks.

Thanks! I'm so glad you like it and I appreciate the encouragement. Be sure to check out the tutorials for the mass parts if you haven't already. I'll be doing similar ones for the requiem and I'll also start on some classic texts such as the Ave Verum. It takes time but comments like yours keep me going!

In «sanctus» there is no more (or less) nasalisation than in the examples with «ns» and «nt» («consubstantialem»). It is just that the nasal consonant in «sanctus» is a velar nasal [ŋ] due to partial assimilation, while in «ns» and «nt» we have an alveolar or dental [n].

This is wonderful! Do you offer a printed guide? I would love to give this to my student.

@@arielm1112 thank you. No , I don't have a printed guide. There are many resources on the internet but the challenge is really hearing the sound we want. :)

How do you pronounce the “c” in principio? As s, k, or c?
