Good explanation. The Ayat (verses) are referring to the components from which humans are created. The dry earth dust and water. As you mentioned water is component in every living creation. The name Adam آدم given to our first father comes from the word ادمة "Adanah" which is a Semitic word found in Arabic and other Semitic languages and refers to the soil/dust of the earth. In the third Ayah you mentioned the "nothing" refers to not being a structured living being with intelligence. That is Allah (God) Who brings humans into existence and then takes them out of existence with death. Then their structured bodies return to the original components, and the soul returns to its maker for the period of the grave, until it is time for Resurrection and judgement. There is a different state of existence in the realm of the grave known as حياة البرزخ " "life of barzakh" it is a transition to the Hereafter. It is either a pleasant period or an unpleasant period depending on the person's deeds in their life and can be a precursor for what is to come. Some minor sins may also be punishable in the grave as a purification such that the person in the Hereafter may be granted entrance to Heaven.
