"Pinga" is a ceremonial activity that is performed by Maharashtrian (typically Brahmin) married women on the occasion of Mangalagaur. Mangalagaur, celebrated on a Tuesday (Mangalvar) in Shravan month, is typically a women-only function and is very significant for new brides. It includes doing pooja, good food and several game-like activities like the Pinga dance, fugdi, jhimma and others.

May I tell you? See, the Classical Music hasn't come out from Classes but has come from masses. Many Classical Ragas have origin in folk music. You will find that in many Folk Music in different states of India like Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala consists of Raga Music. Classical Raag Music is indeed refined form of Folk Music. But you will find that folk music also consists of Raga. Therefore, you will find that many Classical Music based compositions are immensely popular in India.
@somnathmusictattu3 жыл бұрын
Very true….very few people know about this….Indian classical music came out from the emotions of normal people through the hands of folk music and it took more than 10000 years to reach this place and its still evolving….

Yes, this is simply and beautifully put.

But there is also folk music in Himalayan states which has chant like singing but not as vibrational as normal classical music👍
@somnathmusictattu3 жыл бұрын
@@Anmolnegi-yw7hg If you listen to himalayan folks, they also represent some raag or the other....Vibration depends on how it is getting conveyed....A melody can become a sad song and that same melody can become a dance song, which totally depends on its orchestration and the attitude....For example - yeh dosti hum nahi todenge is a happy fun song, and the same is a sad song when Amitabh Bachchsn dies....So vibration depends on the orchestration and the approach....Raag is a different topic altogether....In simple words it can be said that when certain group of musical notes comes in a certain way or style, a raag is formed....infact most of the chanting we listen are in a certain raag because that creates the feeling, which we experience....
@Anmolnegi-yw7hg3 жыл бұрын
@@somnathmusictattu actually I am not talking about classical aspect of music moreover if u listen to folk songs from Himalayan region u can easily see less influence of classical music in it while if u listen to folk music from Bengal or Kerela u can see how much classical based it is morever as classical music is very vast subject so yes u can cover other music forms as well even western music is very easy for u if u learn classical music but I was talking about influences which folk Himalayan music has less of it moreover nowadays even traditional Himalayan singers have learnt classical music so they sing it in that way 👍

Ikr? I was part of Bollywood hate brigade. Then, I started watching these guys' vedioes and started decoding what the makers actually intended in their work. Honestly, it might be so frustrating for them when they're constantly shunned for their work b'coz genz audience nd critics want our movies to be not-unique nd like the western counterparts- subtle, short, music over montages etc. There's various instances when critics h've hailed a movie just b'coz it's feels far from Indian mainstream filmmaking format. Just like Indians praising India by saying "Arry wah yeh toh India nhi lag rha".

Bollywood or tollywood or mollywood in Indian music is only a minor part of Indian Music. There is a lot more in traditional classical and tribal/folk music. For a change you may devote one week for treditional Himdusthani( northern) classical and another week for traditional Carnatic(southern) classical music, which are two most wide spread classical music systems in INDIA. Happy music. Thanks

Indian songs aren't uniform. Specially the traditional ones. They are all inspired by some or the other State. In india we have every State with different language, traditions, culture,festivals, languages, clothing,folk dances and food. Not one state is similar to other. This particular dance is inspired by a Marathi language folk dance performed and practiced in the State of Maharashtra,West of India (where Mumbai is located).

And Deepika’s character is Mastani who is his Muslim wife whom his family members never accepted as Bajirao’s was a Hindu bramhin. In history it is written that Kashibai took care of Mastani’s child after her death. From history we know that she is a very good and selfless lady. Movie is a very good one.

Bajirao was a Hindu prince of a province 'Maharashtra' in India 4 centuaries back. Priyanka is shown as his wife. Mastani was Muslim court dancer but also a warrior who saved the princes life and prince falls in love n marries her. This sort of marriage (inter religious)is not recognised for a Prince...but much against the wishes of the wife she has to accept another woman as her husband's wife. What follows in the movie is the true history of India and not just a story but with a dramatical twist. The love story of Bajirao and Mastani is a historical fact.
